Nice only for a walk and some pictures, but not a beach you want to swim at.

The risks are too great for getting injured here with the drop off and the rough tide. A great... read more

During our three day's stay in Carmel, we walked one afternoon along this road and beach. Very beautiful and with lots of interesting and fine houses to look at.

A surprise find next to Point Lobos State park, easy access, directly on Hwy 1, with walking trails along the beach and up on the bluffs above the beach linking to other coastline beaches. Great place to see a sunset as well

If you visit Monastery Beach, please pay close attention to the signs. They are not kidding. This beach is very beautiful by day or night, and the pebbly surface is very different from most other beaches. But pay close attention to this one fact: IF...More

Nice big beach with some parking and very well maintained bathroom facilities. Just north of Point Lobos Reserve, and there appears to be a walking trail that just might lead to that park, but can't be sure.

Monastery Beach is close to the highway and is beautiful and has great curb appeal due to it's easy access. Be careful, this is the most dangerous beach in Monterey County due to riptides. It has a very steep slope from the beach too. Beware.

Monastery Beach is a tourist stop, but many are unaware of the substantial shelf drop just a few feet out in the water and into the 'Great Big Blue'! The locals call this beach 'mortuary beach' with so many unsuspecting tourists wading into the water...More

Monastery Beach sits atop a bowl that drops down over a thousand feet not a half-mile from the shore. That engenders amazing sea life. Whales will fly out of the water, landing with a palpable thud you can feel 1500 feet away. I saw a...More

It probably would be but as for when our best weather is in the fall and the spring. The summer months can be socked in fog. I'm not sure who you need to contact to get permission to have a wedding on the beach.
