I have wanted to go to Refuge for a few years now. I finally had some time and my friend and I could have a nice girls day. It was a beautiful location and the facilities were clean and well laid out. The locker room was spacious, the saunas and pools were exhilarating. I have a couple of comments, the... More

First time I came here and oh my gosh am I glad I did! I didn't really know what to expect other than I will be relaxed afterwards. Well it provided that and so much more. From checking in until leaving the parking lot every aspect was 100% satisfying and amazing. I fell asleep twice and I never nap in... More

We stumbled upon this gem while taking a road trip. It was so relaxing and the cold, cool, warm and hot pools were great as were the steam room and sauna. No booking was required and we were able to turn up on the day and enjoy a lazy morning of tranquility. Possibly because of it being a weekday the... More

Refuge is tucked in a canyon not far from Carmel. You can get a massage or just go for the pools and relaxation. Included in your entry fee are the steam room, the sauna, the relaxation room (so relaxing!!!) and a number of pools ranging from ice cool to really, really hot. If you ask one of the staff, they'll... More

So calm and quiet. Just being able to reconnect to self and breathe was so needed and rewarded. The detoxifying ritual is amazing. I would recommend this to everyone who wants and needs to be in the moment , especially fellow therapists of any field. I am personally a massage therapist/esthetician and I give a lot to others. This is... More

The Refuge is a beautiful quiet area to renew and pamper yourself. I had the best massage that I have every had by Jonathan and before and after massage used the steam, sauna , cool and cold, warm and hot pools. I rested inside on 0 gravity tables. I have done it with friends and since it is so quiet... More

If you need a place to unwind from the daily grind this is it! The Refuge offers a series of hot Jacuzzi style pools, and cold dipping pools that deeply relax when done in sequence. The experience starts with either a sauna or a steam bath, followed by the cold and then hot pools. In between sit by one of... More

Love this place and come every year at this time. Recommend getting there before you massage (if you do one) to get a couple "cycles" in first (steam/sauna; cold pool; hot pool; chill out; repeat!!). Second year year in a row we've arrive at opening (10am) and the steam room wasn't hot yet. This year sauna too. Note to management,... More

We came to this place on a whim after extending a business trip - coming from non-stop stress into this place of lovely dipping pools and out door fire pits was a frickin' dream come true. We came during the day on a week day so it was relatively calm with just a few other guests. We both got wonderful... More
