We did the one day family safari with Daew and it was wonderful! We did probably 5 hours of jungle hiking in total, broken into very manageable chunks, and Daew is an absolute marvel at dealing with children who are not used to hiking. He made all manner of toys out of sticks and leaves, and just kept everyone engaged. We didn't find the gibbons, but we did find the elephants, and it was magic. The night safari was brilliant too. I've already passed contact details to several friends. Hugely recommended

We went to Khao Yai National Park in May 2024. It was such a great experience. Our guide Daew did his best for us to see a maximum of species. We took 40 minutes to see gibbons, Daew put a lot of energy to find and show us them. We has the chance to see elephants, macaques, birds. The night safari was great too. We’ve been lucky to see deers, fox, porc-epic,… It is a journey to book with no hesitation

A wonderful experience, we saw a lot of the forest and wildlife and Deaw shared huge knowledge. He was a great guide and clearly loves what he does. We trailed a wild elephant at one point , great excitement. We strongly recommend

Everything was great! From the communication to the 2 day trip itself. We saw Macaques, gibbons, porcupines, a bearcat, hornbills, elephants and a king cobra! The hikes through the jungle were a great experience, and Deaw is a great guide!

Amazing experience with a very knowledgeable guide. Deaw is aiming to give you an authentic experience of the forest . He is dedicated to conservation and habitat preservation, so he was a good choice for us. He respects all the elements of the forest , not just the high profile animals which are of course interesting and exciting to see, but they only tell part of the forest story. We are a couple with an active 14 year old. We certainly got off the beaten path. I’d say you need to be physically and emotionally robust for this type of activity, but Deaw will adjust based on your fitness and capability. We did the 2 day 1 night nature lover tour. We stayed in the park which was great as you then get to do the wonderful night safari. The night safari was a highlight for me - I loved the porcupines! The accommodation was really good, truly in nature. food options in the park are excellent - we are vegetarians and we got plenty of good options. Thanks Deaw!

Deaw is a great guide and took us on amazing trails through the forest and also arranged our pick up from Bangkok and return to Ayuthaya.. He was very knowledgeable about the forest and we saw hornbills, gibbons, many of birds and elephants. Was a great experience and he was very safe and careful. A great experience. I recommend you go with him.

Deaw was an incredible guide and took us on a lot of amazing trails through the forest and also arranged our pick up from Bangkok and dropped us off to our hotel in Khao Yai after we were done with our tour. He was very knowledgeable about the forest and we saw gorgeous hornbills, gibbons, loads of birds and a cobra too. Was a great experience and he was very safe and careful even on the harder trails that were not exactly the most common ones - did not see any other tourists on most of the trails we went on into the forest! It was really magical :)
Tip: do tell him to take you to the restaurant near the waterfall (the food there was fresh and amazing) rather than the big food courts near the visitor centre where the food was not as good.
Also the lodges are very very clean and neat, but not very fancy in terms of amenities (not very hot water in the shower which was not ideal) - so if you want, maybe stay at a hotel outside - or ask if he can book the fancier lodges for you near the visitor centre (not sure if he can control that - it's up to the forest department)
Other than that he was very warm and welcoming - I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to have an actual adventure in a beautiful forest.

I was planning to do this tour and received a welcome email from the administrator for a November tour. When I confirmed further details later I was told the spaces had been given away because the welcome email was just that and not a confirmation. It was not clear at all from the initial email that more information was required to confirm the tour and by when. The administrator behind the emails wrote rude emails and was entirely unempathetic and unhelpful. While I'm sure this is a nice tour I'd urge everyone to triple check that the tour is confirmed and whether more information is needed.

When looking to travel here I was initially looking to see if we could have arranged this ourselves to keep costs down. While this may be possible if you had your own car, that would be essential, you would certainly lack the experience of the guides. Dio and the team he worked with were fantastic, they know where to look, understand the signs of animals and will undoubtedly make the experience better. You also have to know your way around the roads of the park to get to trails. Our son loved Dio, great with both kids, such a lovely person.

I read a few mildly negative reviews before booking and did debate if we had made the right choice. In retrospect, my feeling is that the issue with those trips lay with the individuals making the booking and not with Dio. This is not an African safari staying in luxury tents etc but what we had exceeded our expectations. The one word of warning would be food. It is all at local food courts in the park which is fine. We have 2 fussy kids so make sure to pack some suitable food if you're in the same boat. That said, you can get Pringles and Coke everywhere.

Wildlife-wise we saw a lot, highlights were the gibbons, 1 male elephant (amazing) and white lipped pit vipers. We saw plenty to keep us interested, the walks were really interesting and night safaris were good fun.

Overall, I would 100% recommend and would certainly book again without hesitation.

P.S. Dio - Imogen and Jude say hello and they miss you!
