You could call this park “Recreation Central” because of the tremendous range of activities on offer, from disc golf and mountain bike trails, to soccer and baseball fields, two 18-hole golf courses, an Olympic shooting range and archery field, a dog training center and radio-controlled model plane airport -- something for everyone.Prado is also renowned for its bird-watching opportunities, and is a seasonal home for the endangered Least Bell’s Vireo. The park plays host to an annual Civil War reenactment and the Lake Matthews Dog Show.Prado Park is part of the Prado Basin, with rolling hills and grasslands dotted with stands of black willow trees. Chino and Mill creeks border the park’s western and eastern boundaries creating a riparian, or river bank, habitat before the creeks merge with the Santa Ana River. What’s more, the park is conveniently located with nearby freeway access and the convergence of four counties: San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles.

Late arrives will find the number on the sign does not go anywhere. Gate code is needed after hours. Showers were marginal, ground were well kept. Not bad for a camp site, but definitely needed to clean up the berries from the trees which shade the area.

This park is a local gem. It has so much to offer. You can camp, fish, rent paddle boats, there is a playground, horseback riding, shooting range, trails and much more! You feel like you are somewhere in the countryside. We have camped and participated in non-profit runs here and we always have a good time.

Prado Regional Park is a nice place for a great getaway for the day. The grounds are well kept, the lake is nice and there are plenty of places for kids to play. It is also a RV park, with hook-ups so if you wanted a place for the weekend or week, this is a nice place to be.

Our dogs had so much fun running around, they were so tired that they slept the rest of the day. Our teen kids enjoyed the foot paddled boat at the lake, fishing is available & overnight stay too, but there's fee for everything. Overall, it's well maintained.

Thank you for the review! We are a fee run park so the fees go directly back into the park to help maintain the grounds. More

What a lovely park! It's a great place to hike, picnic, BBQ, fish and boat. It costs $10 per day, per car. There is ample parking and plenty of clean restrooms. It's a great place to spend an hour or the entire day.

Lots of GOPHOR HOLES! Despite the attempt to fill in lots and lots of gopher damage, the areas used for the dog show rings were very difficult to maveuver around. Restrooms were clean. Signage was good. Its a very pretty setting. Relatively clean grounds, but the holes were very difficult. Oh, at $10.00 per day, per car, fix the grounds... More

Go on a weekday. I've been here many times. I usually take a hike around the lake, down to the stream...and clocked it at a solid 3 mile hike. I always see a nice assortment of birds..from small birds..sparrows & warblers, to woodpeckers, lots of waterfowl...herons and egrets, Hawks, Falcons, turkey vultures, VERMILION FLYCATCHERS! The lake is pretty nice, however,... More

This huge recreation area is convenient to all of Southern California, and yet seems remote. There is something for everyone, hiking, shooting, fishing, camping. We've spent many happy days here and a few uncomfortable nights. Because of the water from the dam there are many mosquitoes and many many more ants. Be Prepared.
