After visiting the park, this cemetery brought alive how the miners came from all over the world. The headstones from the 1800s were particularly interesting in that they demonstrated the range of countries people came from. Well worth a visit.

Wander through and read the old head (and foot) stones. Appreciate the quiet. Those old timers had a rough life.

We walk here every day, the upslope walk from the little historic town is peaceful and delightful. There are many markers from the 1800's.

The cementary is up a hill near the school. It was larger than I expected. Many historical residents are interred. Many died young. Gold Rush life was tough and harsh.

I could have spent a couple of hours there! Fascinating! It is just above the school house and makes a nice extra walking tour beyond downtown Columbia. Not to miss -

The Cemetery had many grave sites that were surrounded by a wrought iron fence. I found that interesting and it played well in taking pictures of some of the sites.
