Nice place with parking in neighborhoods and walk down to the beach easy and less crowded over Christmas holiday and in February on weekdays.

If you can I'd visit in September or October when kids are back in school. Super packed on summer days. Parking is pricey, $1.50/hour M-F, $2.50/hour S-S. If you get there early, there is street parking but you've got to walk down a pretty steep...More

I often visit big Corona because the access is easy and the water is safe. Try and visit during the week to avoid the crowd

Just spent a wonderful Friday at the beach. Not crowded, school may not be out for some yet. There were a lot of parking spaces. Since we were hauling chairs and tents we opted for parking in the parking lot. For a really nice experience...More

This beach is one of California's jewels. Parking is avalable (for a price) but it's a great beach for locals and tourists alike. Keep an eye on the little ones. The waves are smaller than next door in Newport but an occassional set can be...More

My daughter joined me on a recent business trip to Irvine, California. On the final day of business, I escaped early and my daughter and I headed for the nearest Pacific shoreline: Corona Del Mar State Beach. Googlette's sweet voice guided us to a location...More

This was a nice beach and was never too crowded the couple times we went during our stay. The waves break off shore and were never too big. Tip: parking here was the most expensive beach parking we visited at $4/hr. If you park in...More
