We were on the island four days straight for a swim competition and by day three the sun came out and it warmed up. We enjoyed our electric bike ride immensely and walking around after was easy and fun. Lots of little restaurants and shops, a great local bookstore, ice cream shops, a theatre, darling homes, and relaxed atmosphere.

Wow, great beach town, miles of sand to walk on, bike trails to ride....great restaurants, shops. The beach was fantastic for a long walk even though it was not warm enough to swim.

Stop by the back of the Coronado Inn at dusk, grab an adult beverage and stroll to the beach. The sunsets are spectacular and the walk along the beach is one you'll never forget!

Coronado Island is definitely and deliberately an exemplar of a throwback to a 1950s California beach town mentality. It's clean, safe and pleasant enough but feels a bit artificial for a longer stay. But one of the least desirable features of this throwback mentality is that traffic is king here. The least safe part of visiting the island is the... More

We took the ferry from downtown to t his beautiful place. There are some quaint shops and we walked to the other side aof the island about a 45 minute walk. The beaches are beautiful and it is worth while visiting the Coranado hotel which was famous in the forties and fifties where an array of film stars stayed. We... More

Man .. Coronado island reminded me of King Kong island .. no roads .. mosquitoes the size of bats .. bats the size of small dogs .. small dogs the size of big bad ads dogs .. old white people hanging in gangs begging for beer and sex ... it was so un-righteous.. swing music blairing from run down beach... We took a trolley tour and Coronado hotel/beach is one of the stops. We thoroughly enjoyed it and spent a couple of hours here. It is rated one of the top beaches in the country and I would definitely agree with that. The view from the higher deck is just breathtaking, as well as walking on the sandy beach. My... More
