Catalina is a great place to go for a one or two night getaway. The Catalina Flyer is quick and smoothe. Once on the island, rent a golf cart, take a boat tour, poke around the city. Rent a cabana at Desconso Beach. Pick a restaurant and enjoy the afternoon. Take a tour of the Casino that is not a... More

This is a lot of fun but I have to give people lots of advice on this one. First, find out online about the schedules that you want and on what day. Because it takes an hour or so each way, you have to factor that in your visit. I suggest allowing a whole day for travel time and visit... More

This is a wonderful way to get over to Catalina Island. The boat was clean with bathrooms. The even have a snack bar with adult beverages. We took the 7:15 am and they had coffee, muffins and bagels. The crew was polite and helpful.

I picked this ferry over the cheaper Catalina Flyer due to the horrible ratings they got. I was happy with the experience overall. No one got sick on this ship which I was very concerned about.

We were heading to Catalina Island for a weekend. It was nice the Express has a birthday program to travel for free on your birthday. The Island has many treats for people celebrating their birthday too. The ride was pleasant. Saw some dolphins, other boats on the ride out. The boat has bathrooms and a snack stand.

We headed to Catalina on the express. I prebooked online (glad I did as the Monday morning service was fully booked). The downside was the check-in process - the check-in line was very long and then for the parking I had to take the car to a remote parking area and get a shuttle back (you need to allow at... More

A relaxing way to get to the island. You'll see dolphins and sealions, during the season of whale watching I have seen a whale come up and wave at the boat!!

Very professional and left on time both to and from the island. You also have to pay for parking as well as the ride there and back. It was comfortable and clean with a fairly smooth ride. We did see hundreds of Dolphins and a few whales as well. There is a concession stand on the main deck for coffee... More

I took my daughters over for the first time. It was a smooth ride, clean and friendly. It left on time and the trip across was an adventure in itself. We got there in no time. The view as we got closer to Catalina, was amazing. Occasionally you can get a discounted ticket through Groupon or Living Social.
