Beautiful beach, clean and lots of friendly lifeguards. Lots of families and children so the lifeguards were extra busy warning about strong currents. Lots of dogs too, so we will definately be back.

Cardiff state beach is one of our favorite places in SD! We go here to photograph engagement sessions and adventurous families because the sunset is so lovely and parking is steps from the great photo spots!! (convenient for elders) Make sure to go during low...More

Just enjoy the sound of the ocean waves, the water on your feet and friendly people walking the beach just, like, you. Surrounded by great eating places and a cool wind.

This beach is great for families and surfers. Frequented by wind surfers in the winter; paddle boarders and surfers in the summer. Great family beach. Adjacent to San Elijo State Park campground.

We rented some body boards at a place up the road and had a great time with the kids. The slope into the water was gentle for the young ones, and the waves were just right. We had a blast here. Parking was $10 if...More

This is a very picturesque and lovely beach area. However, it does cost quite a lot to park there, unless you have a California State Parks pass. That money does help pay for the bathrooms and the shower, which are nice to have. You walk...More

Not only did I get a great parking spot, I brought my dogs and met a bunch of other doggies and their parents. It's nice to have bathrooms, but they could use a remodel.
