Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The old Lighthouse in Gavdos is an interesting historical point in our trip.
The view from the lighthouse is great. The sunset offers beautiful colours and romantic atmosphere.
There is no ticket to enter, but it has too many people at the same time because of the sunset so the parking is full.
There is a small cafe where you can enjoy a drink.

Simply breathtaking sunset. The light house is refurbished and serves as a small museum of lighthouses. There is small cafe with only the essentials such us water, beer and raki. There are people doing yoga outside the lighthouse. There is a wide area with chairs and tables you can sit and watch the sun setting at 8:23 early August. Some days people with guitars with come and play some relaxing music. Definitely worth going.

Perched high above the cliffs, this well built, contemporary display has a small coffeeshop and sitting out area to enjoy the magnificent views. You can also buy a copy of the excellent book on Gavdos called the The Emerald of the Greek South by Chrisitomos Stefanakis. It costs 12 euro.

If you want to see a magnificent sunset this is the location. Getting there is not difficult and a small tavern is also open in the afternoon. Both from the farm and from the promontory the view is magnificent. Then in the evening the magic

Reconstructed lighthouse (bombed in WWII)
great sunset, when there is no humidity.
excellent idea to hit the full moon of August when the sun almost sets and the moon rises at the same time.
combine it with a raki in Faro.

emblematic point is the reconstructed lighthouse of Gavdos where the largest lighthouse of the Eastern Mediterranean stood until it was bombed by the Germans in 1941.
Today it functions as a museum, but there is also a canteen bar for coffee and raki.
The most beautiful place to see the west at the southernmost point of Europe perhaps.
If one happens to be in the full moon of August one can see after sunset and the appearance of the full moon from the other side.
all this on the condition that there will be no moisture, because then the spectacle is different.
