A great museum with buildings left over from the mining days. When docents are there, they have the Assay office and Blacksmith's area open. History abounds in the museum. A working model stamp mill too! Gold panning for kids, hiking trails and a campground.

We had a day of rain while staying at Gray Eagle Lodge. The museum at Plumas-Eureka State Park was a great indoor destination. The black- smith demonstration was fantastic and kept the kids mesmerized for over an hour.

I don't think you can go wrong with any State park in California, they are all unique, well maintained, and a pleasure to stop in. Plumas-Eureka State Park carries on that tradition.
