From historic sites to kitchy restaurants and inns, and including many options for kayaking, hiking and picnic spots, you need to spend at least a day (or a week!) in the Gualala area of the California Coast between Point Reyes and Fort Bragg sometime soon!

There is a nice walk to the ocean along which there are huge old trees. People like walking their dogs out to the water.

Went for a weekend getaway, for a friends birthday she rented out a house. It was literally the worst drive of my life! There are soo many curves for at least a whole hour you are driving up a mountain continuously driving 15miles,then 25then 10 then 15, bumped into about 10 dead skunk on the road and a few deer... We camped inside the park itself then walked through the tent area out along the water to the parking area. Camping area is great although we were the only ones there - even the camp hosts were away...From the camping area you can easily find the trails - to the beach, or around the grounds and golf course of Sea... This appears to be the only ocean beach access for the town of Gualala. It's just south of town, on hwy. 1. While we didn't go in, we could see the beach access that it afforded, from our hotel.

Gualala Point Regional Park sits just outside of The Sea Ranch, next to Sea Ranch Golf Links. Parking can be found inside the park, though many park outside across Highway 1. When you start your trek here you are able to walk the full coastal Sea Ranch Trail.

My daughters and I have been here many times since my Mom used to live in Gualala. The last time we where here was to watch the Ocean for a few hours and share stories about my Mom who had passed.

Spent half the day there. Hiked the trails, walked the beach. Got food and ate and read at the visitor museum deck. Free wifi too!

Camping or day trips are both a wonderful way to stay in Gualala. The campsites are clean and the showers are warm. Take a stroll down to the beach and walk along the ocean.
