It was early March, summer when we visited. was there on a midday and was scorching hot. Alighted at Brighton Beach Station and walked 15min to the beach. Very Windy, sea water was clear, cooling and many people were sun tanning. There's no café/restaurant nearby at the beach itself. Only mobile food van can be found. Nice to take pictures... More

Beach box's is a lovely thing to see. Paid parking meters are pricey just to see the box's so turn into a side street and grab a park. Sand will give your feet a scrub in some places as its gritty. Under and hour to see unless you want to swim.

Cute boat houses on the sand. They're all painted differently with lots of colours making the row full of them very colourful. Great for photos. The sand was pretty rough with lots of broken shell. The water was not great but clean enough.

The beach is really clean, the weather is nice during our visit. The colorful boxes sure add an unforgettable view. Not to many tourist in the area so you can surely take a great picture.

A clean beach , great outlook and not too many people , unlike others . Perfect for all activities, safe for children and good for swimming , paddling or just admiring the view. A favourite !

The beach itself is a good one but no better than St. Kilda or South Melbourne which also have excellent beaches but Brighton beach is lined with Iconic Beach Huts which give it its own personality and a little flavour of England especially for me the beach at Wells next the Sea.

Only thing to see are the historical change sheds. The beach has rough unpleasant sand and the water is shallow. This place is boring. The Beaches in NSW and WA have much more to offer.

No matter you like beach activities or not, no matter you like sun bath or not, no matter you like taking photos or not, no matter you are alone or with friends or family, you should definitely go to Brighton Beach if you visit Melbourne. It's the place I like most in Melbourne.

We stayed 4 nights within walking distance of the cafe strip. We have stayed in Glenelg before and found it too bustling and a bit tacky. Brighton is less pretentious and v pleasant. The temp was a scorching 40 for 4 days but the beach was not crowded. At nights people arrived to cool off. Friday night was a bit... More
