The Orange County Coast is a great location for most any activity that might interest you. If you are active, it's great for a walk, run, or bike ride on the boardwalk; volleyball on the beach, or surfing near the pier. If you are looking to relax, there's plenty of space to throw down a towel and catch some rays... More

Almost as good as Huntington Beach State Park, with matching waves and scenery. The difference is that there is no paid parking, so one must wait until someone leaves their precious street parking. There are condos and homes nearby, but they all have private parking. Sand is clean and white, waves are spectacular for all.

Parking is tough, except in the paid lots, which may fill up early on summer weekends. There are areas reserved for those in campers and motor homes who enjoy dry camping, to the south. Typical southern Cal ambience, and north of the intersection there are ample places to eat and drink.

This is an interesting area as the vibe changes from city to city. You can go from a surf city feel to an art scene in a mater of miles. I have lived here all my life and enjoy traveling along the beaches it never gets old.

Avoid parking hassles and get a bit of exercise. Grab a beach cruiser and cruise up and down the Orange County Coast. Terrific way to see it all.

It's a real mixed bag for me. I like Newport very much, but Huntingdon, and the beaches each side, not so. I don't like lying on the beach and looking out to oil rigs. So I'll either go further north to Redondo or Long Beach, or south to Newport.

In Sunset Beach off Pacific Coast Hwy& Warner Ave is situated in a perfect "South-West" location with the Pacific. This geographical location may explain the healthy iodine-sea-salt riddled breathes that flows around, A perfect ambiance for walkers& joggers. This is my favorite area for beach -walking.

Orange County is one of the most expensive counties in California but one of the nicest too. The coast line south of Los Angeles up to Dana Point offers a lot of sandy beaches and very kind bays. A must be to visit when traveling through California

We visit this beach every year and stay at the Travelodge that is right on the beach. It is clean and now crowded because it is so big. Good places to eat nearby and not crazy like some of the beaches in more populated areas.
