Had a walk along the pier on a Friday and it was a great way to spend an hour. Busy but not too crowded, and the views are lovely. Enough stalls around to have a look at and easy to get take away food from Ruby's Diner.

While visiting southern California recently, my husband and I, along with two other friends, made a visit to Huntington Beach for the first time. It was fun to walk along the pier where we stopped to watch the many surfers as well as birds and the occasional dolphin. Parking wasn't too difficult to locate and the walk wasn't strenuous.

Nice walk onto a pier where you can watch surfers and beach goers on both sides. Great atmosphere on a sunny weekend! Many fishing off the pier as well. Even saw a seal waiting for fishermen to throw leftovers down.

Ok for a stroll, but mainly fishermen when we went. 50's diner at end looks good for snacks/drinks. Can watch the surfers...

Very nice stroll along pier but beware as vehicles are allowed to drive along and park up for a short while. Lots of surfers on both sides of pier as waves were very good for surfing. Toilets on pier were dreadful probably meant for fishermen. Lots of people fishing amazing facilities for them to prepare bait then to gut and... More

Nice pier with a great restaurant at the end. Check out the surf shop for souvenirs (got some great Huntington Beach/Surf City shirts). Great place to watch surfers too! The beach is really nice and they had a street market going on on the Friday afternoon we were there.

The Pier was a revelation not only for what was on the boardwalk but for watching the surfers trying to catch the large waves without becoming a cropper, further on there were plenty of folks trying to catch fish with the lone seal trying to outdo not only the anglers but the general public by it's antics. The restaurant at... More

This is always a nice, leisurely stroll. Seldom too crowded and close to cafes, coffee shops, etc. Problem is parking.

We got to this beach during off season time and in the evening. There was some volleyball nets n games being played...there was music and food off the pier...but this beach kinda sucked. Not one shell in sight. No where to get an umbrella or cabana type thing. It was a bit average. Beautiful sunset though.
