Nice bird walk with Yuko

Very sweet and knowlegable nature guide Yuko took me around to see the birds in the nature park. Nice hike and she found some great birds, including a Japanese pygmy woodpecker.

Very sweet and knowlegable nature guide Yuko took me around to see the birds in the nature park. Nice hike and she found some great birds, including a Japanese pygmy woodpecker.

We stayed two kilometres north of this park and so we were able to walk to it. We were there primarily for bird watching as the area is famous for its Copper Pheasants. We enjoyed walking the three main well marked woodland trails as well as the Kose Forest Road (which was virtually traffic free when we were there in... More

The bird sanctuary is not far from town. There is a free shuttle bus that runs throughout the day (up to an onsen that is about a 5 minute walk from the sanctuary itself) or you can get a taxi (from town will cost about 1200Y). My girlfriend is a birdwatcher and for her this was one of the must... More
