Nice place to visit

When we went in the beginning of May, roses had not bloomed. However the lake was beautiful. Nice place to spend an hour to two.

The place consists of a lake, small museums, rose garden, old houses and cafeterias. I visited there end of April. Roses were not blooming. Instead, cherry blossoms were blooming beautifully. It is good to walk around the lake and enter into museums and cafeterias. I visited there by circle bus from Karuizawa Station. The circle bus stops there only 2... More

I'm sure Taliesin is a nice place to go when it's warm and mostly in business, but make sure you plan ahead when you go off-season. Pros-Probably beautiful when most of it is open, pretty lake Cons-Opened later than expected at 10:00 am. Before I went, I checked the website and looked forward to seeing the beautiful Lake Shiozawa and... More

There's a beautiful lake to see and boat on if you'd like to, several museums (art museum, house museum) to explore, little shops and restaurants, and lots of walking room. Lots of beautiful flowers too!

Fun to ride the boats with family members. Also flower fields are pretty and a good 1/2 day excursion spot.

Save your 100 yen unless you like uber-cute French illustrations and skip the Musee Peynet. Try the fried octopus balls at the fast food stand beside the lake.
