Short and sweet it was the Best Museum I visited in Japan The exhibits and the Building The building worth visit just to look at it and the museum is highest quality world wide dedicated to Japan and Asia culture.

Plenty of English to make it a place you should visit if you're in the area around Fukuoka/Hakata. Artifacts and history over 1000 years ago through modern times.

This museum is highly recommended when visiting Dazaifu. The building surrounded by the hills and greens plus the exhibits about Japan and its neibours - a very enjoyable half-day visit for me and the family. Loved it.

Short walk 15-20mins walk from train station. Modern architecture and interior museum. Permanent exhibition is located on 4th floor. Exhibition is very interesting, but photo is not allow.

While in Fukuoka our Japanese friends took us to visit this museum and Dazaifu temple. The building is very interestint with its ceiling in wood. I would have rated this museum average but now they have a calligraphy exhibit which is most interesting. We also...More

There were not much to see considering a huge size of the building. Pricey though. Actually there was only one floor to see things. No interactive media. Nothing much to see here.
