Hundreds of seals to watch playing in the water or lounging on the sand. Beautiful scenery while walking the cliffs of La Jolla.

The children's pool has been taken over by sea lions, and during certain times of the year you can see them with their pups very close. It is stinky, but very cool!

If you want to see seals this is the place. You can get down to the water and up close if you want. But staying up high was ok for us.

When we arrived at the Children’s Pool, it was full of seals and babies, but I found it to be a bit boring compared to the other sites we had seen along the shore of La Jolla (the Cove and La Jolla Shores). We did...More

We head about this cool place from local family members. It was awesome viewing the mountain lions and their pups frolicking and laying about in the sun. Didn't cost a thing either. Even got to see some sea caves on the beaches!

Though the beach was closed to humans when I visited in April, you could still view the seals and watch them hanging around.

Beautiful seashore view and sea lions. Must see and cannot be missed. Easy to park and walk down to the water. The sea lions loll on the Rock and the birds were nesting. Wildlife, very close.

Definitely a great place to get up close and personal with these wonderful animals. Very photogenic animals and don't mind the people all walking around.

My children loved this and if you go at an off time, there is a bench there to sit and stay awhile. We stayed for about 20-30 minutes to watch them play in the waves and watch the babies learn to hobble over to the...More

Yes, there are sea lions and seals on this coast year round. You'll find seals at the Children's pool and the sea lions typically hand a little north of this at the Cove. You can usually find the sea lions by the smell (it... More
