Designed by famed Jack Nicklaus, this 18-hole championship desert course is dramatic in design, featuring plenty of large lakes, deep bunkers and steep drops off the edges of greens.

Rain in the desert ?

Yes, it does rain in the desert, but don't let it slow you down. Light sprinkles during the first 5 holes, but not enough to send you for cover. Course is a lot more forgiving... read more

I played this course on July 4, 2016. Upon arrive I checked in to the pro shop. The young lady that waited on my wife and I was nice. The other person behind the counter (young man) was condescending and rude. He asked if I wanted to go earlier than my tee time, at 9:08 rather than 9:27. I figured... More

Yes, it does rain in the desert, but don't let it slow you down. Light sprinkles during the first 5 holes, but not enough to send you for cover. Course is a lot more forgiving than it looks. Fairways are actually fairly wide. Most fairways sit below the housing so the mounds will feed you back to the fairway, unless... More

This is a nice course to play, however the conditioning could be improved, the greens were slow and very uninteresting [little undulation. However the service was excellent with all the amenities for an enjoyable day

Apart from an unfortunate exchange with a Starter who must have been having an "Off Day" as he was pleasant when encountered a day later on the Stadium Course, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this course. We always check in advance when booking a course whether Buggies / Carts are mandatory as we avoid riding like the plague !... More

You expect the amenities. You at least expect GPS on the carts or at most a map on the scorecard. We got neither so likely we would have had to buy a booklet in the Pro Shop. The course was good, but we thought a third overpriced and we played some very fine courses this week. With the variety and... More

We played the Nicklaus course the day after the Stadium course. There is a lot less water but still plenty of sand. The 18th hole is a great finishing hole alongside the water.

The PGA West Jack Nicklaus course seems to be designed for ski enthusiasts. Most holes are generously sprinkled with ski-like moguls creating numerous slanted lies to deal with. Tough to hit from all the angles one encounters. Can't complain though, I have trouble with level lies as well. Enough said about that, the bottom line is that the course is... More

Outstanding course. Nicklaus designs are well thought out and challenging. That begin said, it's fair and playable for all levels. Scenic views of the La Quinta area abound.

We are in the Palm Springs area for our annual golf outing. This year we are playing Tahquitz, Classic Club, PGA West Nicklaus, and Silver Rock. So far we've done three of four and this course would rank third overall. Amazing course but... 1. We had a 7:03 am tee time. No food service available until later in the day,... More

I have a thing about golf courses going through housing additions. They feel cramped and if your hook or slice is working well, your collateral damage is substantial. One thing the courses at PGA West offer is space - lots of space in most areas where you do not actually feel like you are on one of these courses. Not... More
