Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beaware of pickpocketers. We experienced one... Thet way down the sewage to the lake where the people walk. Foot washing place was ticketed.

On the surface of the earth, water basins that have no outlet to the sea are numerous. With their waters they form enormous lakes, almost seas (the Caspian, the almost defunct Aral, the defunct Lop Nor) or smaller basins, which in the case of an arid climate remain dry permanently or during the summer, and in some cases give place for immense salt expanses; like the Salar de Uyuni, or precisely the Tuz Gölü (simply: “Salt Lake”).
The lake doesn't offer the most pleasant landscape one can imagine. But it is well known that men are fascinated by everything that can affect their soul; and even the horrid does it.
We had a taste of the lake's landscape by visiting it not through the tourist venues which rise towards the northern end of the lake, but further south, through a road - very little frequented - which leads to a salt extraction plant, and there it ends.
When we reached the point where the road ended and it was no longer possible to proceed further, the solitude, the silence, the very white surfaces that extended in every direction to the horizon, produced in us a sense of "displacement" that we will not easily forget.

This body of water looks different during winter time. There was no change of colour. But you could notice it has a different composition, and that is the salt. Anyway , we just availed of the typical photo ops.

Very beautiful place, the lake itself was full of salt so take off your shoes when walking on it otherwise the salt can damage shoes, there are also lots of stray dogs on the lake, they are friendly and tend to follow humans around. The gift shop are full of local specialities and with very good price

A little far from Cappadocia, we went on a tour. In the summer, the scenery is almost completely white with salt. We walked to the back and finally got to the place where a little water remained. Depending on the time of year, you can take a mirrored photo like Uyuni salt lake.

Beautiful lake without exit to the sea, hence the pink color. Make sure to bring sandals if not the pain is very real due to the salt

We enjoyed our short stop there but we did not find anything stunning about this place and it is not well maintained. Only stop there if it is along the way.

Guess the lakes are dried up ....We walked quite far out but it was too hot so halfway we just started digging and create some leg salt massage ourselves. Quite enjoyable though.
I guess there are other spots which if you self drive, you can drive to it. This is the tourist spot so I guess we have no choice.

This large salty lake is right on the main road from Ankara to Aksaray/Cappadocia. When we were there in the Fall a solid pinkish salt crust had formed over the water of the lake and you could walk out several hundred yards on dry salt. A little digging confirmed that there was water below. Time for a few pics, a WC stop at one of the roadside businesses, and some quick shopping for salt products. You can see a few spots on the lake where salt is being harvested commercially. I wouldn't go specifically to see this lake, but it is worth a stop if you are driving past.

It was ver nice scenery however there are so many people including us and I guess we spoil the beauty with our foot prints. That was very nice feeling to walk on water. After we walk and make photos all clothes and legs feet were full of salt. There is place to wash your legs and feet for money. We were unlucky that sky was so much cloudy that could be better for reflections to have clear sky.
