Highly recommend for adults and kids. We went with 2 families and had a great time. Gets everyone thinking and energized. One family was from LA and got to see places they haven't been to before and the other was from DC and was able to experience LA differently than just the common tourist spots.

I took my staff for a fun race day. And while a one team might argue the fun after getting to the finish quite a bit later and exhausted it was a great time. The puzzles were challenging enough without being too difficult and while there is a bit of walking or running for one team it wasn’t to bad. Being locals I loved that it took us to places I have never been before and now I must go back to really experience them without another team on my tail. Erika was a great host and provided everything we needed.

I loved the Fantastic Race. My friends and I signed up for Los Angeles Race #2. We had a team of 3 people. We competed against 9 other teams. Team sizes of 2-4 are fine. You are only as fast as your slowest runner, and you are as smart as your smartest person. The race is performed via the Metro and your running legs. We traveled to a variety of destinations which included off-the-beaten-path places. The puzzles were challenging and creative but not impossible. Some of the clues were actually quite humorous once solved. If help is needed, the hotline can be called for hints. Our host Clayton was awesome. We ran, ran, ran, searched, solved, and won first place. The prize is a sexy medal. It was a fun day with exercise, excitement, teamwork, and plenty of laughs.

Tips: Bring water and snacks. Wear athletic gear and prepare to run. Bring money for parking ($13 at Hollywood and Highland garage). Bring your fully charged cell phone to call each other and for extra help via Google Maps. This may be a difficult activity for young children who can't run. Wear a sunscreen/ hat. Matching team costumes are also cool. Carpool to save money on parking.

Logistics: $79/ person, but discounted to $44 if you use Goldstar/ Yelp promos or the code word "solved" on the Fantastic Race website. Race starts at the Hollywood bowl. You move your car after the first puzzle to a parking garage. Price includes Metro Card, entrance fees to sites, 2 beers, and (if you're lucky) a dazzling medal. Race lasts 4-6 hours although we finished in 2.5 hours. Go big or go home!

My sometimes-hard-to-please 17 y/o daughter and I did the LA #1 Race as our very first excursion after a long flight into LA the night before. What a fun way to erase jet lag and learn about the city in which we'd be spending the next week! Larry did an amazing job with the coordination of the event and he's full of energy and good humor. We raced against a couple from overseas and a group from LA. It was a tight race with the foreigners taking the 1-2 spots: the game is cleverly and thoughtfully designed so that there isn't too much of a home-field advantage. And a few of the spots involved in the game were ones we ended up re-visiting later in our trip, even though we hadn't included them on our agenda before arriving in LA. There is a fair bit of on-foot travel involved over the span of 4-5 hours, but the activity required is far from overwhelming for the average person. Tip: bring an extra scribble pad and pencil if you really want to win! Highly recommended!

We met up with our race leader, Colleen, at the Hollywood Bowl parking lot. After giving us instructions and the rules for scoring, we were off on an exciting scavenger hunt that encompassed the Hollywood area and Downtown Los Angeles.
There was only one point where we were unsure of what we were supposed to do and ended up wasting precious time wandering around. For the rest of the puzzles, it was pretty clear what the next step was.
If you want to win, be sure to wear your running shoes and dress lightly, as we noticed other teams running from location to location. There are some tasks at certain locations, however, where it might have been better to have a staggered start, so teams would be less likely to be on top of each other. Fortunately for us, we were so far ahead of our competitors that we didn't see them at all after the 5th puzzle. But I think that if there were five or six teams at each puzzle location, it would have been hard to concentrate.
The puzzles are reasonably challenging, but not overly difficult. After a late start (around 11:30, due to the tardiness of one team), we ended up completing the race in about 3 hours. The last team arrived at the end point about an hour later. Be sure to have something to eat in the morning, so you don't run out of energy midway through the race.

We are a family of five with three girls ages 10, 15, 17. I saw this attraction on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. We had a great time and we were exhausted mentally and physically at the end. Our race took about 5 hours and we got 3rd place. This adventure was a great way to see a few different sights and ride the metro (we didn't know there was one). Race consisted of figuring out puzzles and using clues to guide you to the next location. Colleen, the race organizer, was very nice and explained everything regarding the event. I recommend they give out race shirts to each team in different colors (good advertising for race too). I also think there should be a mandatory short stop for lunch. Overall, we really enjoyed the race and I recommend to anyone who wants to view LA from a different perspective.

SO FUN!!!! It’s so hard to figure out how to entertain 18-20 year old visitors in LA because the city is so spread out, and a lot of the hip places are either amusement parks and hiking (neither of which gives a good sense of LA in particular) and places 21+ after dark. The Amazing Race fills half a day, and gives a great introduction to the city.

I did this LA race (1; Saturday) with two friends and it was a great bonding experience. Your day basically lasts 4-5 hours long and entails clues from starting to finish line. 15,000 steps, 6 locations, two metro rides , and 6 miles later , we hit the finish line first ! Albeit only by 4 minutes. As locals, we had a great time checking out the city without having to feel like we're missing out on not spending more time appreciating it. If you're stumped , they will provide clues but only with a penalty of deducted minutes. I highly recommend this race if you want a bonding, sight seeing experience with your loved ones.

Recs: I do wish it took place earlier in the day as 11am - 3 pm on a Saturday afternoon in June is blistering hot after you've run around especially. Also, we originally had planned to include our pregnant friend (it's supposedly pregnancy friendly). It is not if you're planning on winning ;)

Came as 3 couples to celebrate a birthday. We split the teams to women vs men. We ladies tried to sabotage the men by having them wear flip flops only because they had longer strides. The men had no clue what they were doing and we kept them in the dark until the morning of. The event required a lot of running around to seek and solve clues. The clues were pretty challenging and clever. We never had to phone for help so we were very proud of ourselves, although the men did and they mocked us for being so precise with our answers. Nonetheless we traveled a lot on feet and kept looking over our shoulders for the other competitors. Pay attention to what the hosts says and be alert for the unexpected. Lots of fun!
