Neighbourhood: Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wow what a beautiful lobby. Service was attentive and fast. Food portions seemed tiny but they were tasty. Bar area was excellent post dinner. Would return without question.
The Vault is such an attraction. Why not put private dining tables down there instead of the bathrooms?

Not your typical high end hotel. Full of charm and detail, the bar and restaurant should not be missed.
Rooms are a bit on the smaller side, nice high ceilings and well appointed baths. Vet clean, a good bit of street noise.
Pool upstairs is beautiful!

Full disclosure, we did not stay at the hotel but we did tour the lovely public areas (e.g. lobby and rooftop bar/pool area). The hotel is an architectural jewel and has been lovingly restored to its Art Deco splendor.

The rooftop is a very cool spot to gather for drinks and snacks in the afternoon and evening.

Recommended gathering spot in downtown LA.

Came here last night with a few girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. I came a while back when they first opened and remember having a really nice meal and last night did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was superb. The birthday girl had a great time. Service was excellent. And don’t forget to visit the vault restroom downstairs! Perfect for a mini photo shoot!

What a great place. Former Bank of Italy renovated. Jo our waitress was very attentive. We had the chicken, cauliflower, calamari and salad to share. Yum! The LA sour was excellent. Highly recommend
