Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Getting to the Greek Theater is just awful. There is a lot of traffic and once you get near it you will be in grid lock. When you make it, you may be able to find a place to park, maybe not (buy in advance) and regardless you will likely be parked in uneven dirt or mud, depending on how the passed weeks weather was and then comes the 1/4 mile or more walk up a grade. If you are disabled this really is bad. They need to get it together. They have very few handicapped spots and even then they assume that all disabled people are in wheel chairs with a way to get up the grade. For those with other disabilities, it is really bad.
Once you are there, at the gate, it is wonderful. You may be tired, but there are places to sit before you walk into the outdoor theater. The staff is so very nice and super helpful. They will direct you to your seats or to the food area.
The food is much better than many other venues. They have the typical junk food, but also some really good items, even a vegan can find something they can eat. They have a full bar.
The seats are very good, not as in comfort, they are small and plastic, but in location. There are bad seats, if you go all the way to the left or right of the stage or all the way back, but the first 25 rows are very nice and you will be able to see the person on the stage.
The prices for tickets are reasonable.
The sound is very good. You can hear well and there is not that horrid echo or grind you hear at some other venues. Their sound system is one of the main reasons to go there.
All in all it is a great place to see someone you adore. I go often, but getting up there makes me want to scream. But once there we are happy.

The parking is awful. I drove in from Orange County almost 3 hours before my event and was still 20 minutes late because of the gridlocked traffic. No one helps you if you are confused about where your seat is, and the seat numbering is very confusing with two tiers of seats with exactly the same numbers/letters. The food is outrageously expensive. I guess they want to give their clientele the full you-are-cattle/airline experience. Yes, I understand they are the only place to see some artists, so they don't have to give a crap about what we think.

The Greek Theatre is astonishing. Close to 2000 years old. Really exciting. The views from the top of. the town, Mount Etna and the Med just cannot be beat. The visit c ostg peanuts and (because it the off season, I guess) crowd was negligible. Completely fab.

Bonobo was FANTASTIC as always and he was the saving grace for this *Greek Theater* experience, alongside his illustrious band, of course. UNFORTUNATELY, the FOOD was generally dry, overcooked, and was pretty terrible overall. We got the chicken tenders, grilled cheese, etc.
All of it was aggressively mediocre... at best.
Not sure if the kitchen/chef staff last night (10-22-22) had a pulse, but if they did, it was a *heavily intoxicated* pulse.

This venue has a curfew so if the singer of the band you are going to see talks to much they will not let them finish their set. The show will end exactly on time. Nice place but not worth it when faced with the curfew.

I prepaid parking online for lot A, B, or H (cash only if you pay on the day). Lot A is the first lot as you go up Vermont. Lot B is the closest to the theatre entrance and was easy to get out of even stack parked (we arrived at 5:15 pm for a 8pm show), lot H is on the other side of the theatre farther up the hill. Parking at the Griffith Park pony rides and taking the shuttle is cheaper but you can't bring stuff into the theatre so be prepared. Picnic tables (20+) are available near and across from lot B but bring a table cover. Across the street is Franklin's Cafe & Market where you can purchase beer, wine, coffee, snacks and sit at a lovely outdoor patio area. Street vendors cook and sell hotdogs if you're brave enough to buy from them. I prefer to park at the venue so I can bring my meal etc., take stuff back to the car and then enter the venue. Or you can bring chairs and sit near your car if you're parked on the grass. While we sat at the tables the shuttle bus drop off was about 30 minutes apart. Keep in mind nothing but a sealed bottle of water is permitted in the theatre (besides a purse), no SLR cameras allowed. Bring a cushion if you need one, no cushion rentals. The theatre is great because its not too big so most every seat is a good one. There is no cell service in the area. Bathrooms are huge and don't take long.

Having never been to the Greek I needed to learn more about it for the Sam Hunt concert at 7PM. It was my daughters first concert and suffering headaches I searched and searched for info about parking in case we needed to leave early. Reading that most parking was stacked was not a good option so we went with the shuttle hoping we could get back to our car if need be, via Uber. We learned once we got to the shuttle parking it only ran 30 minutes before the end of the concert, this wouldn't help if we needed it. There is a large area inside gated area with concessions, benches and standing heaters that would be a great area if she needed a break. Having bought concert band member grade ear plugs, she made it through the whole concert with no headache!
PARKING: Shuttle was easy $10. Shuttles were DASH, the city buses so sat lots of people. I prepurchased but it didn't seem to speed things much as they had to look up my name and amount of people. No line to get it to the shuttle lot at 6:30 and parking in a dirt lot, 2 minute walk to the shuttle and waited about 10 minutes for it to fill before we left. Shuttle was about 5 minute drive from venue and just a 3 minute walk to get to metal detector, which took only a few minutes also. At end of concert we were on the first shuttle (there were 3 buses waiting) and the parking lot was literally a 1 minute from the 5 south freeway.
SEATING: When other posts say not a bad seat, what that means to me is that you are able to see the artist and he/she doesn't look like an ant. We were at the front of section C. I was able to see Sam good enough to tell he had a beard and hat not the color of his eyes. Next time I would go for section B or even the sections on the side. There were two big-ish screens but I feel that they could have been larger. That said, while sitting in the seat and looking at the stage, I would go for the right side because it is closest to the exit, they are even number seats. We were able to get up at the last encore and stand in the isle on the stairs and make a very quick exit and onto the very first shuttle.
Great place to see a concert!!

The elevator taking us up a level got stuck and was clearly in poor repair. The staff did their best to be helpful, the problem was with the facility itself. There are an enormous amount of steps in this lovely place to see a concert but be forewarned if you have mobility issues.

The Greek Theater is a beautiful venue. A few tips..
Try the dine and dash option to avoid the hideous stacked parking. You can pre dine at participating restaurants and they shuttle you right out front of the Greek and then pick you up and return you to the restaurant after the ahow.

Easy to get to, book your parking when you buy your tickets otherwise you might get stuck parking in the last lot (stacked) and then you'll have to wait for others to get out. Aside this, the venue is a great place to see a show. All seats are good, being an amphitheatre, but the best seats are the sides (north or south terrace), with the obstructed view. They are closer, and the obstruction is really not that bad. The seats are made of hard plastic, a cushion might be a good idea, and they even offer hot chocolate among beer, alcohol and water.

how do i purchase VIP parking for the Greek
Written 12 September 2024
I recall that all parking was purchased directly on the website. If it not there, try calling them, as VIP may be set aside for special arrangements.
Written 13 September 2024
Yes there is some but not a lot.

Where is the cheapest place to park for a concert? Is there a shuttle and if so where do you park and catch it?
Written 3 March 2023
There is parking at their lot, it is not the cheapest, but it is the closest. There is also parking and shuttles from the zoo, which is not very close, Here is what the Greek says, "Begin your Greek Theatre experience and eliminate stress, enjoy convenient shuttle service, meet new friends by taking advantage of very affordable off-site parking. The Pony Ride Train Lot is located in Griffith Park on the northeast corner of Crystal Springs Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard (4400 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027). Shuttle service will begin continuously 2 hours before show time."

No, it would have to be so small.

Is there any where to picnic at the shuttle pick up site?
Written 16 September 2022
There are picket area at the venue and right down the street, which is where the main parking is. You can picnic at the shuttle, but it is a walk.
Written 4 March 2023
Do the shuttles run continuously at the pony ride lot?
Written 25 August 2022
Are there any Dine and Ride options like there were in the past?
Written 25 July 2022
The Greek no longer addresses this on their site so I think it is gone. I can't find anything about it on line at all anymore
Written 4 March 2023
Is the off site parking at the pony rides still in operation? What is the charge and times of operation before the concert at the Greek Theater.

I have just purchased two tix for the Greek Theatre in LA for a concert on 21 Aug 2019, from Australia. My concern is three fold. The Ticketmaster tickets were purchased on reseller Viagogo and are e-tickets. They look genuine as printed out BUT the terrace seats are not specific. To me they should note whether they are North or South Terrace on the tix. Secondly how can I be sure another punter does not arrive with the same on-sold Ticketmaster tickets on the evening? And thirdly I consciously requested seats together. In this case we are separated by one seat so I am not happy. Can anyone offer any comments out there?
Written 3 July 2019
Hey Alan, will try to help with a few comments. Ticketmaster is the primary seller for this show - just like Ticketmaster AU or Ticketek would be in Sydney/Melbourne etc. The Greek actually has two ticketing systems - AXS and Ticketmaster and the use depends on the promoter. In case of Steve Miller, Ticketmaster is the correct system. Tickets in the Terrace sections for whatever silly reason are not labeled North or South. (I have Terrace tickets for Elvis Costello upcoming). The only way to tell are the seat numbers. Even seats are South and odd numbered are North. The seating is numbered like 2-4-6-8 etc so I suspect your seats are together. Onto the secondary market concern. Very valid. You have no way to know if a copy of these seats were sold on another platform like Stubhub and Vivid Seats, as well as on Viagogo. The first barcode to be scanned will get in. So there is risk with all secondary market purchases. I've used Viagogo for several shows in UK, Ireland, Czech Rep without any issue, however I know they have recd some very bad press of late. If you arrive and tickets dont scan, call the customer service line for Viagogo right away and tell them. Then call your bank and charge them back, In the meantime you will most likely have to purchase new seats at the box office ---but this show is not heavily sold. Typically the venues will not work with if you are not the purchaser of record on their system - ie Ticketmaster. I hope this helps and try not to worry. Safe travels.
