This isn't a very big market. But it has a lot of stuff. I especially love Eggslut here. There are bakeries, produce, coffee shops, pressed juices, etc. So many options to eat here. If you are within walking distance of here, it's def a great spot to hang out for a bit. It gets pretty crowded so beware of a... More

Ok Downtown LA is as we know on the up and up...but walking the streets around there is still a little unnerving, there are a lot of vulnerable people and people with little money and of course a homeless population on skid row, however, the more us tourists venture down there the more money pumped in that direction. We decided... More

It reminds me of Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. A nice assortment of food vendors offering both cooked and fresh food. A nice place to grab a bite to eat downtown.

You will find a nice variety of cuisines - Chinese, Mexican, Italian - for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The prices are reasonable and service at most places are pretty fast (but I have also seen some pretty long lines)!! When crowded, seating can be a challenge but hopefully they will expand it. Parking on the street (if you can find... More

I wish we had had more days to come here. I had Pad Thai from Sticky Noodles Too, and my husband had street tacos. We were not disappointed! There were so many places to choose from. Our servings and the prices were on par. I loved this experience!

I could have spent hours here. Simply amazing. If you love a cuisine for just about any country in the world and have a craving, this place is for you. Everything from currywurst to pupusa to lox to fine cheeses. Plus gourmet and fresh food for purchase. I could have created a whole vacation around this place. It is hard... More

The central market is offering a large variety of restaurants and bars as well as some specialty grocery stores. It can get crowded but certainly worth a visit if you like to experience and try other cuisines.

I'll said this is a must to do in LA, lots of Mexican places, but Asian, Salvadorian, American, and others. You will be full filled this people offer only the best of their kitchens, don't get trap in the doors entrance, explore before you decide. Have fun!

I thought this was a open air farmer's market but it was covered and full of little stalls selling food. It is very casual, but fun to walk through. We weren't hungry so only got a a coffee and rested at one of the tables in the common area. Still thinking about all the great food in the bakery that... More

Its a nice place to visit. Just because its called a market does not mean the food are sold at market prices. There are many stalls that sell mexican food, some burgers, a couple of delis, a few that sell fresh produce and preserves, etc. The japanese and Chinese food are disappointingly unauthentic. One of the mexican food we had... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
