I have never been inside the El Capitan ... But I will always remember the time that I met Guillermo outside the theatre. Guillermo is one of the biggest and nicest celebrities I have ever met. A real class act!

Instead of hitting the stores and battling other shoppers on the day after Thanksgiving, we go to El Capitan Theatre nearly every year. It offers something everyone can enjoy. In our group, we had people who are 83 years old to 3 years old and nearly every decade between. The live production before the movie is fun and the organist... More

Went to Nightmare Before Christmas in 4d on Devil's night. Purchased reserved seats 2 months ahead of time. With one night before Halloween the theatre must have lost interest. None of the special effects (snow, light, smells, sounds) worked. The concessions were in standard el Capitan containers rather than the NBC themes. You could just tell they were ready for... More

A gorgeous cinema, a building that ALL cinemas should aspire to be. Why only a 4/5 review? The organist blaring out a tuneless din before the show starts makes my ears bleed. I cannot believe that people actually applauded that noise. The prices might be higher than most others, but they justify it with a memorable experience and other goodies... More

I had a chance to see the iconic El Capitan during a recent trip to LA for the Red Carpet Premiere of Pete's Dragon. I love visiting old theaters and was impressed by all the work that was done to restore the theatre to its original state. It is beautiful and easy to imagine the crowds showing up for live... More

Just saw Beauty and the Beast at the El Capitan Theatre. Belle came out before the movie and sang and danced. The theater is beautiful and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

My memories of the El Capitan Theatre go back to the 90s, watching Disney films like Aladdin and The Hunchback of Notre Dame with my aunt and a large bucket of popcorn branded with my new favorite characters. The fun times continued in high school and through college with movies like The Haunted Mansion, Enchanted, and Toy Story 3--hand in... More

Went to see 'Finding Dory' and it was truly adorable and magical: they have a bubble artist perform beforehand and the whole theater is designed around the film with undersea themes. Its only the one screen and you can get balcony seats if you wish! Definitely recommend, especially when you're in search of fun that includes a lot of air... More

Ok so I am behind on reviews! We went to go watch The Nightmare Before Christmas and it was awesome, What made it so much better was the atmosphere of the theater, the décor and the light show. It an experience that you just cant beat. Clean and friendly staff.

The building is pure Hollywood and its owned by Disney and they have really polished the place up. Go take in a movie for some afternoon relief from the Hollywood sun, its splendid.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
