Breathtaking views, nice staff, Bacci ball, and snacks. Take a picnic and sit at the tables with umbrellas! We love their award winning Pinotages & sparkling wine! Start early b/c they close at 5pm. Only open on weekends. Be sure to stock up on their wine to enjoy at home! If you subscribe to thier newsletter you'll know when Bill... More

This place is simply stunning, you feel like you are looking down at the ocean from the clouds. The drive up is not for the faint of heart. Stop by the Summit General Store on your way for a picnic, just light bites once you get up there. It can get crowded, but you can take your time sampling. Their... More

This was our last stop on our (informal) winery tour, and it was phenomenal. We came a bit later in the day (pretty close to closing) but everyone who worked there was so friendly and accommodating. The views were spectacular and so were the wines. I even got to try an excellent wine/cheese pairing that was truly amazing! I mean,... More

I absolutely love this winery and their wines. It's beautifully situated on top of a hill in the Santa Cruz mountains, so you have an amazing view of the landscape. Additionally their wines are phenomenal. I really love their estate pinot and their pinotage.

Set in the Santa Cruz mountains, Loma Prieta is one of probably dozens of wineries in the San Jose/Santa Cruz/Los Gatos/Saratoga area. You will need a car (or a driver); follow the directions on their website, because online maps and GPS systems are unreliable in this area. Besides having great wines (the Pinotage is their specialty), the view at Loma... More

Liked the wine, the views from the patio, the servers and the whole experience at this winery. They were recommended by friends who go wine tasting regularly and I would agree with them that this is a great place to go wine tasting.

The spectacular view of Monterey bay across the Santa Cruz mountain range is breathtaking from their lovely outdoor terrace. I recommed stopping at the Summit Store on the way to pickup picnic supplies. And this winery is the only one I know with Pinotage...a great red blend.

Wine is becoming the "thing" to do everywhere; so when you are also greeted by a gorgeous view and super friendly servers, Loma Prieta stands above the normal. After a beautiful drive, one arrives at a spacious overlook with a drop-dead view of all of Santa Cruz. Picnics are encouraged and go well with a bottle of Pinotage.

This small winery in Santa Cruz Mountains has some good wine. Their view from the outside area is beautiful on a sunny day. Mountain view and in the distance you can see the Pacific Ocean. We enjoyed the tasting and it is reasonable in cost $5.00. There are several tables outside to enjoy the view - when we said we... More
