Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After visiting a dozen wineries in 2 1/2 days, there's no question that Koehler did the best job dealing with COVID restrictions. We've been to Koehler many times over the course of many years, and their wines are always consistent and delicious.

Positive # 1: Dan....so well known in the area, he's charming, professional and a sheer delight.
Positive # 2: The only winery where you could pick 6 wines from the full list to create your own flight. No pre-made flight options of white, red or mixed. How refreshing is that.
Positive # 3: Pick a table in a variety of outdoor areas, and when you're ready for your next wine, just walk up to the outdoor bar, and Dan will pour you a properly chilled wine.
Positive #4: The property is gorgeous and well maintained. It is the perfect setting to spend the afternoon wine tasting.

Negative # 1: There are NO negatives.

It was an experience I look forward to repeating soon.

We've tasted at Koehler before. It's been fun and funky, Not this time. The server (Dan) seemed put out and low energy when we arrived, informing us that we could taste six wines but that there weren't many reds for us to taste. Uh, ok. His banter was awkward, and we wondered if he was less energetic because we were two women. My wife said to me, "I"ll have what you choose." Dan asked, "Do you trust her?" My wife said, "I do. I married her." Dan said, "I don't have a problem with that." Very awkward. We made the best of it, and Dan tried to warm up a bit, but it was too little too late. At $20/tasting, wine-tasters would be well-served to visit other wineries: Kalyra, BlackJack, Sunstone, Fess Parker . . .

We all have an off day once in awhile, and I'm very sorry to hear that Dan's dry humor made you feel awkward during your tasting. After 19 yrs of making guests feel welcome and like family, perhaps he doesn't always get it right. We extend a heartfelt apology to you both.

My visit was an absolute treat as I was warmly welcomed and the owner provided some great insight with delight. The wine selection was excellent with a balanced taste and product. I would recommend you visit during your wine tour of the area

Dan always gets Stan reviews. He deserves it, but the wine, yeah the wine. He'd have a lot harder job if the wasn't so good. Do the whole 9 yards: hold it up to the light-great color, swirl it and take a deep nose dive, tilt it back and get the aroma, swirl it and the flavors-well-go try it. I left with one case of mixed reds and one bottle of white.

We stopped by Koehler Winery during our bike ride on Foxen Canyon Road. They were the only winery that didn’t require an RSVP, which was a big plus for us since we didn’t know how long it would take us to ride there. They had ample outdoor seating and an outdoor tasting area. We not only enjoyed trying their wine flight we also enjoyed some cheese, meat and crackers that we purchased there as well.

Out of the 6 tastings we both had, my favorites were the 2016 Chardonnay Reserve and the 2016 Syrah Reserve. The hubs enjoyed the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2016 Syrah Reserve the most. Wayne was a great help and very informative.

We will definitely be back!

This winery was highly recommended by our friend Jo dee. We found the Riesling wine a tremendous delicious wine. I truly recommend visiting this winery, you will find Dan the man a very pleasant host and the grounds are beautiful.

I went here for some wine tasting recently and really enjoyed my experience. The interior is rustic and causal. There is seating outside for guests to enjoy food. Staff was very knowledgeable about the wine and appeared to know all the regulars that came in. I shared a mixed flight with my wife. She liked the light and smooth whites. I liked the full bodied red wines. So our order fit us perfectly. We got to take home a glass of wine and bought a wine barrel. The barrel was quite a bit of work to get out of car, but looks great in our house. The winery is worthwhile visit.

It is a smaller tasting room, but to me more enjoyable than most other commercial wineries up the road. I liked the white wines and the rose but think that are a bit overpriced. That seems to be the case with most places when going wine tasting. What is a must if you have the time is to book the house the winery has for rent. It is absolutely gorgeous! It is set in the middle of the vines and very tastefully furnished. It can easily accommodate 4 couples and the living space is great. There is an amazing kitchen with enough room for everyone and stocked up with everything you may need. It is one of my most favorite places to unwind. I highly recommend it!

My husband and I visited this winery for the first time last weekend. Its so beautiful in this area.
We each tried a red wine flight, and a couple of them were pretty good. The wine host was funny and personable.
