Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As soon as I arrived, Sean came out to greet me and welcome me. I didn't know the blooming season for lavender and found that it is June and July, so i plan to return then to see all the purple fields. Sean invited me to take as many photos as I'd like to. They have a lovely picnic area under some beautiful oak trees. Their driveway is lined with olive trees. They have many nice products in their small gift shop, all having to do with lavender. The only reason I didn't give this five stars on this trip was because the lavender was not in bloom.

I love the smell it is so refreshing. It was a quick visit as I was looking for a gift for someone but managed to buy myself a diffuser that I have wanted for a long time. There was a great choice of products varying from fresh lavender to cream, body scrub and essential oil. What a wonderful place to buy a gift.

I have been to this lavender farm several times over the past few years, and I don't know why I have not written a review until now. They have really spruced it up relatively recently, as there are now sweet purple lounge chairs and tables at the edge of the lavender rows for you to enjoy. It's quite a lovely place to bring your picnic, or just have a rest. The little store sells the best smelling lavender in the world, in my opinion. I live 90 mins away from this place and I drive there just to buy their essential oil. I know they can ship it, but it's a brilliant excuse to take a relaxing day off. The Lavender plant they grow, I am told, is a different strain of lavender than you would normally buy. French lavender (when I say French, I mean from France) is almost as good as this stuff. Compare it to the lavender oil you get from your local grocer, and you will notice a difference enough to warrant the almost doubled price at whole foods. I use it to make skin care products. Or when I need a little relaxation, I just take a whiff of the bottle. Instant mood change. They DO have a line of their own skin care products, which has expanded throughout the past few years. They also sell a delightful lavender infused honey. And they also sell culinary lavender, which you need to purchase if you want to cook with the herb. (You can't just use any lavender, has to be culinary.) It is right down the road from Beckman Vineyards, which in my opinion is the best wine in the area.

My wife loves lavender. So when we were driving from Solvang to Los Olivos and saw a sign just after to turn into Los Olivos that said Lavender Farm, we had to turn around and check it out. My wife loved it. It was a cozy little place and you could see the lavender growing all around. The shop was a small display area in front of their house but it was sufficient. Products included sachets of raw lavender in various sizes, lotion, dog shampoo, body wash, essential oils, tea, honey, salt, etc. When my wife mentioned that it was her birthday, the propieter threw in a couple of extra lavender products for free!

This place is not what it pretends to be. The plants have been half dead for years and they must be bringing the lavender oils from elsewhere. There is no FDA regulation on these products, so beware where they actually come from! There is no way they can produce those products from their plants! The owners are real quirky and weird, odd people. Go if you have nothing better to do.

A day in the Los Olivos/Buelton wine country just outside Santa Barbara doing the "Sideways" movie tour is made even better with a stop at the family owned Clairmont Farms lavender farm. Located right off the main road Hwy 154 into Los Olivos from the 101 Freeway it is worth stopping by just to smell the air and take pictures. The driveway is lined with olive trees and the air is buzzing with wild bees. Harvest isn't until the end of summer so be sure to go before then. Lavender oil that actually smells like real lavender is available for sale. The proprietor is very low key and you don't feel like someone is all over you or trying to sell you anything. My artist friend took loads of photos in hopes of re-creating it in a painting. I can't wait to see it.

Clairmont Farms is lovingly cared for and cultivated by the onsite owner who also makes all the products sold in the cute shop. It was a little reminder of Provence with the rows of lavender and the smell that fills the air. The fields are not vast rolling hills. It is a small family farm that is a relaxing stop. You can sit outside at the tables and take in the calming scent and listen to the bees. They have really good honey in the shop. It's excellent when drizzled over brie.

While the lavender had yet to bloom the small store was open. Lots of nice offerings. We bought a infuse which included sprigs of lavender along with the oil. We have been when its in bloom in June and if you are in Los Olivos be sure to stop by
