This is my go to flat trail of about 4 miles round trip. Beautiful ocean bluff trail with seasonal highlights of wildflowers, whale spouts, occasional snakes crossing the trail, lizards, birds, ground squirrels, marine birds, coyotes. Parking can be a problem on peak visitation holiday weekends. It is also near the trailhead to Valencia Peak.

A great place to get your run on and enjoy the ocean view and breeze to move you along. Not a difficult path to maneuver and a well groomed path to keep you moving.

I took my family/grandkids here in August. It is one of the most accessible trails to some of the most beautiful pristine coastline you will find. We didn't do the entire trail. We went down to where the tide pools are spent some time exploring there and then hiked back. You will see waves crashing against the bluffs/rock cliffs, Morro... More

What was most fun about driving this road and walking along the bluff was how far you could see along the coast. The high viewpoint was stunning and had many great trails from high on the bluff down to the water. We enjoyed seeing all of the people enjoying the trails on horseback. We were very lucky as the visibility... More

My husband and I have always gone to Montano de Oro while on vacation and never did the Bluff Trail. Finally, on our last trip we decided to go check it out. OMG the views from up on the Bluff were just amazing. Especially during sunset. The hike was easy for us beginners.

Amazing trail along the coast, crashing waves against white cliffs, wild life and seasonal flowers, easily accessible, beach access, tide pools, Coast Range as background, this trail has it all!

The roar of the waves and the unusual rock formations make this one of the most beautiful and easy hikes in the Central Coast. Don't miss it, but bring a jacket because it can get pretty chilly

Walked this on the first day. Hazy out and nice breeze. Bring a jacket. Accessible near visitor's center. If you walk to the other end, there is a port o potty there in the parking lot. Watch out for snakes.

Make sure if you visit the area, you hike the trails along the bluffs - beautiful, beautiful area. You will not regret stopping for a day or two or three and spending some quiet time at this location. One of nature's true wonders.
