Loved visiting this area. We went skiing nearby, and hiking in the valley as well as sledding and other activities. Very accessible from Banff and Calgary, and absolutely amazing views in every direction.

Definitely take this route when driving between Canmore and Lake Louise instead of taking the highway.

Just driving through this area is great. You're surrounded by mountains on all sides, and can just breathe in the mountain air and see the clear water.

All of my valley views were from the roadway as I drove through, and I've added a return visit because the formations are so unusual. Other places to include in your itinerary: Bar U Ranch, Canmore

Gorgeous road, with many points of interest. Truly breath taking. take the time to do this drive. You truly wont regret it, there is something around every single corner. Take your time and enjoy every moment.
