This hike will take 3-4 hours depending on how much time you stop to take pictures. Some areas are a little muddy as well. The trail is overall well maintained, though you may have to climb over some trunks. When we went in August, the...More

Came from out of state to see the red woods and saw more than that. Beautiful hike, great elevation change on the fern loop to make this a bit more challenging. No bugs!!

The waterfall was low this time of year. We did the long loop (North trail). Shorter loop inside campground much quicker and all forest.

We walked the trail near the edge of the cliffs overlooking the water and found the blow hole which performed beautifully for us! Gorgeous, sunny day but chilly near the water. Enjoyed a picnic at one of the tables near the parking lot and watched...More

Nice park and decent hike. Just realize that you have to walk a 1.6 mile trail to get to the start of the 3 mile loop

We just drove through this time but we had camped here 10 years ago. It was as beautiful as we remembered and a nice setting, close to town.

Hiking up to the falls was one of the best hikes I have been on. There is plenty of shade from all of the beautiful trees. The redwoods were breathtaking and there's a stream running along the whole trail. We were able to stand underneath...More

Very little elevation change in this beautiful hike to the waterfall. There were 2 moderately challenging parts where fallen trees had blocked the trail.

It isn't really closed on the weekends. You just have to contact a ranger to get access.
