An ideal location for Whale watching, you maybe lucky to see them from the coast like we did, there are also an abundance of sea otters and sea lions. A magical place to visit.

Being from Hawaii I need to rejuvenate by the ocean every so often. Monterey is a wonderful place to do that. It is not as hectic as San Francisco and the ocean views are spectacular. There are a lot of spots to stop and park...More

A fabulous place to visit for the picnic lovers, one should not miss the 17 mile drive on Pebble beach and also Carmel by the Bay. The view of Monterey Bay is the best from point 1 of the drive

when we went on the trip in April we were told the peak months for seeing whales were between may and July including blue whales. Different whales migrate at different time but the peak time is summer.

Can't answer this definitively but we went whale watching late August and saw Blue whales, Hump Backs and Fin Whales which are apparently very rare.

The best trails are in Big Sur, but all the parks are closed due to the fires! Point Lobos is nice, however that may be closed to. East Garrison,or Jacks Peak might be ok right now. Good Luck! And have fun!
