About
Established in 1925. A cobblestone piazza and village fountain reminiscent of the family's Italian Piedmontese homeland greets visitors upon their arrival at Guglielmo Winery. As one of Northern California's wine pioneers, the Guglielmo (Gool-YELL-mo) family has been producing wine in the California Santa Clara Valley since it was founded by family patriarch Emilio Guglielmo in 1925. Today, third generation brothers George and Gene keep the family tradition alive by producing award-winning premium varietal wines from more than 100 acres of Santa Clara Valley estate vineyards, as well as other premium winegrowing regions within California. The Guglielmo family is very proud to continue the fine art of winemaking passed down through their family, as well as turning their family home and grounds into a place you will share and enjoy with your family and friends.

Visit Guglielmo Winery and be pleasantly surprised
May 2019
I am a club member at one of my local Sol Cal wineries. When I visited Guglielmo Winery I learned why my wineries wine always tastes the same, because that's what sells! However, what is unique about Guglielmo Winery is that they let their crops designate the wine flavor and I like that. I am not a daily or experienced wine drinker, but I know what I like, I may not be able to taste the vanilla or berries in the wine but again, I know what I like. I've been looking for a reason to cancel my local winery club membership and i found it at Guglielmo Winery I joined their wine club. Make this winery your first stop on your San Jose Wine tasting, you won't be disappointed.

Never leave empty handed

We love this place. Often go in for a wine tasting and leave with a case of wine. They have many wine club members who stop by on a beautiful weekend. They hold private events, wedding and so much more. They are always having member yoga or wine making events. They are a big provider in the community. Even some of the restaurants have their wine in them. They have outdoor seating for you and friend to open a bottle of wine, laugh and enjoy the California sun. They do have some snacks and non alcohol drinks. Kids and dogs are welcome. The dogs will have to wait outside for you but are welcome on the patio.

Excellent Gem in the Southbay

This over 90 year old winery in nestled in a small Suburb of San Jose call Morgan Hill California. Their wines are reasonable price for the quality. And they offer a host of fun and friendly events throughout the year. Definitely worth the membership if you drink and live in the area. And it’s just small enough that you get a more intimate feeling whenever you stop by for a visit. A much better value than anything you’ll find in the Napa Valley area.

Great long-time family winery
Feb 2019 • Friends
We went there with friends who are wine club members for one of the 4 x/ year bottling events. We tasted the red blend and decided to bottle a case. What fun! Staff there to help out and several hand-carts to haul away your purchase. Then we went to the tasting room to try several of their moderately-priced varietals - the sangiovese and zin were our favorites. Outside picnic tables are available, but rain and wind kept us inside eating our lunch (with a few more sips of wine!) at the wine barrel tables. Extensive gift shop. 20% discount on wines for club members. This is a great place to take out of town visitors. Easy to get to - no windy road into the hills - and a wonderful piece of Santa Clara County farming history. Fourth generation family members still have a big part in the family business.

Take a designated driver.
Jun 2018 • Friends
We went to the winery for a tasting. Lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly. Our hostess was very informative asking about our personal tastes and selected the wines for us to try accordingly. There was a taster menu but she also chose other wines for us to try that she thought we might like. The almond champagne was delicious.
I bought a bottle of wine and when I mentioned that it was a gift that I was taking back to Europe, they carefully packed it in a box. There was a very comprehensive gift shop as well with lots of handmade items. Lots of award winning wines. Be forewarned that the samples of wine for tasting are very generous, hence the warning to take a designated driver.

Wonderful venue in Silicon Valley
Aug 2018 • Business
We had a wonderful celebration for my business 20 year anniversary. The catering choices, the vendors, the venue were all easy to work with. There is plenty of parking and it’s got a sense of history too. My favorite wine here is the Estate Zinfandel. Most people love the Almond sparkling.

Nice property, but the wine and tasting experience were mediocre
Aug 2018 • Friends
Title pretty much says it all. Wines are perfectly fine, just nothing special. The tasting experience was also very blah, the lady pouring our wines knew about them, but it just felt like a very impersonal experience.

Went out of their way to make our children welcome.... the owner made friends with them, got them to bottle their own wine as a gift and all in a beautiful spot and a great wine tasting experience. Highly recommended
