Nice setting and well priced gift shop. Saw a tapestry we bought at another winery for $80 less tha we paid. Wanted to like the wine more as it was well priced but except for the fruit wine, couldn't.

I will preface this by saying that this is a 5 star review purely because of Lisa the lady who ran the wine tastings while we were there. She is a literary wordsmith and her descriptions of the wines were amusing and mind boggling in some cases. She made the whole experience very enjoyable. The wines themselves are, for me, on the sweeter side (especially the fruit wines). As a previous commentator said, I would most likely be unable to pick out the varietals of most of their wines, except for my case, the Grenache. I am far from a wine snob but know my varietals. On a stop in Morgan Hill heading to Sonoma we hit Guglielmo (see my other review) and Morgan Hill Cellars. Two different worlds. MHC is blended with sweet fruits to give their wines a dessert taste to them. Because of this you can not identify the grapes, just the sweetness. I guess every wine maker has a right to blend his own style but this was not my cup of tea...or wine in this case.…

Disappointing tasting. None of the wines exhibited any of their varietal characteristics except perhaps the Zin. In a blind tasting I would never be able to guess what I was drinking. That doesn't necessarily make these bad wines, just that they don't appeal to my palate. The host was also a bit over the top. No need for me to return unless they somehow improve their wine making. To be fair, my wife and I have grown grapes and made award winning wine for many years. We have been to most of the AVAs in the states and have enjoyed many of the enological areas of Europe.…
