Too crowded! Not enough beach for lots of dogs and children to play. Drove a couple of hours to see the beach, prefer further up HWY 1, past Jenner. Okay for families that live in that general area or close vicinity.

This a great beach to take the whole family. There is a nice size parking lot, vault toilets, a some great hiking trails around the beach. When the tide is out you can get from Muir Beach to Little Muir Beach at the north end....More

We stopped by Muir Beach after a nice trip to Muir Woods and Sausalito. It was cold, windy but beautiful. Wasn't too crowded especially for a Friday. Small and very pretty. Love this beach. Dog friendly. Will be back!
The beach was lovely but it was a but chilly when we were there. We spent all our time on the trails. Hiking to the top of the hill was worth the effort. We had great views of the beach, the homes on the hillside...More
