The animal compounds are larger than at most other zoos and they give the animals a natural setting. The grizzlies frolicking in their swimming hole was priceless. The gondola ride provided an excellent panoramic view of the bay area. Even though there were lots of...More

Pretty nice zoo, gondolas are super fun, too pricey and food options even at the new cafe not very fresh or good. Should give food discount to members. Hate the walk up the hill very tough for people w disability or strollers. Wish they have...More

New gondola ride nice experience. Great views of area from top. Drinks and snacks quite expensive. Did not find many animals normally found on the African plain, e.g. hypos, rhinos, gorillas etc. Nice place to take young children.

My 22 month old loves to run around and see the animals. We LOVE LOVE LOVE the new gondola and California Trail. They have about 10 baby bison and baby grizzlies too. The space is expansive and the children's play area is clean and fun.

I have been to many larger city zoos and this one was on the lower spectrum. First, I couldn't find the place to rent a stroller and when I found where, there was no one working it and the strollers I saw were not in...More

I visited here last week with family and was very impressed. The animals seem well cared for and had lots of room and "enrichment" objects. The chimp certainly loved his little shopping bag! It was nice to see animals I hadn't seen before such as...More
