Turnbull produces exceptional quality Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, dirt to bottle, from our 100% estate grown vineyards in Oakville and the Napa Valley. We are known for our small production bottlings, most only available exclusively at the winery.

We are a hidden gem, an authentic and approachable winery experience where you can taste our honest and true wines at their source. We offer private tastings by prior appointment, and gallery tastings open to the public seven days a week.

We believe in the opportunity to pause, explore, and discover something new every day, and for us, wine should be no exception.

Other highlights:

Pairing Garden - Planted with edible produce and flowers that offer perfect pairings with our wines, this is also a great spot to relax with friends in front of the fire and taste wines.

Photography Gallery - Turnbull has one of the largest private black and white photography collections, and twice yearly we curate a show in our Gallery Tasting Room, featuring a plethora of famous artists, including such notables as Berenice Abbott, Ansel Adams, Jock Sturges, Dorothea Lange, Herb Ritts and more.

History

Established in 1979 at the original estate site where the winery is today, Turnbull has been rooted in the culture and history of the Napa Valley for more than 35 years. We are a small, family-owned, multi-generation business building on a legacy.

I have enjoyed Turnbull cabs for years, but had not visited their winery and was unaware of their recent 2013 ratings bonanza with parker. I don't know how recent their tasting room investment was, but it is a very upscale tasting room with excellent, comfortable open seating with couches around tables - and as other reviewers have noted, lots of... We really enjoyed this airy, modern farm space. The wines were excellent and the people there were knowledgeable and friendly. Reservations not required, but the tasting space is not huge.

We stopped in her as we had a bottle of their wine back home and really enjoyed it. We went in without a reservation and shared a tasting (40.00). The pours were generous and the wines were absolutely the best wines we have experienced in a long time. The tasting was comp'd with a purchase of a bottle. the last... More

Turnbull was a lovely relaxed tasting atmosphere. We wandered around looking at the photographic display and then enjoyed a tasting outside in comfortable chairs in the beautiful October weather. It was great from start to finish!

This was the first stop on our self-directed bike Tour. Although we visited 4 wonderful wineries we had to return once again, the following day as the 3 Cabernets that we tasted were incredible, with next being better than the last. The tasting culminates with the "Black Label" which is exquisite. After returning the following day I was so impressed... More

We stopped here to fill some time before our next vineyard reservation and we were not disappointed. Our Host Bob was very knowledgeable and informative. The wines were excellent and we ended up joining the Wine Club due not only to the quality of the wines but also since we would be getting wines that are not readily available in... More

We visited several wineries and this was a favorite. The staff gave wonderful descriptions of the wine and the tasting was excellent.

My wife and I had been visiting a few local vineyards and this was our last stop. First thing we loved was the tasting room. It is absolutely beautiful. We tasted a few of their wines which were really good but we absolutely loved the Syrah. We bought a bottle to bring home with us and both agree that this... More

This was our last stop on our wine tasting adventure and to be honest, I could have skipped it. The grounds are very beautiful and the people were extremely friendly. There was a cozy spot to sit inside, but my husband was attacked by fleas! There were two dogs wandering inside the tasting room and outside and I think that... More

We stopped in on a whim and not knowing what to expect. What we got was a charming and friendly staff serving some really good wine. Our host gave a good description of every wine we tasted, including where it was grown and what characteristics to expect. If we go back to Napa, we will definitely pay Turnbull another visit.
