I'll take the Coaster over driving any day. It's fast and clean, and moves along the coastline between Oceanside and downtown San Diego for half of the trip. While it jogs inland for the second half of the route, it comes back out along Mission Bay and heads into downtown from there. No traffic worries, and you can even bring... More

Orange County and San Diego fought over how many North to LA trips vs South to San Diego at their inception. Now as taxpapers pay for two train services that did even coordinate their runs to meet each other. It should be one line from San Diego to LA. One line from LA to San Diego. They should be taken... The transit system in SoCal is fabulous. We were staying in Oceanside, CA and wanted to go to Old Town San Diego but didn't want to drive. The Coaster transit stop was within walking distance of where we were staying and dropped us off right in front of Old Town! It also stops in smaller cities in between and goes... More

Great way to travel between San Diego and Oceanside. Stops in most major towns along the way. Perfect way to miss the traffic that the 5 fwy has become known for. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery along the way. Really great for going to see Padre Games or an early evening out on the town when you want... More

The Coaster train is the best way to visit points south. With convenient schedules south and northbound, you'll be downtown in about an hour. Round trip cost is worth it as parking is free at all the stations.

If you can be a bit flexible as to timing, the Coaster is for you if traveling to or from the San Diego to Oceanside areas. They cars are clean and comfortable; the schedule is kept to almost by the minute. And the different point of view is very enjoyable. Our train from Carlsbad to San Diego took approx 10... More

For 8 years I commuted every day on the Coaster from Carlsbad to Sorrento Valley. Also took multiple trips with grand kids and visitors. Ideal for o Commuting to work (with shuttles) o Tourism - visiting San Diego - walk to Embarcadero, Gaslamp, stops right in Old Town and transfers to Trolley and buses for other places (ball game) or... I love the coaster. Have taken it to Del Mar many times. Easy on easy off. No hassle and very cost effective.

I really like using the Coaster between San Diego and Oceanside. It is very economical and has good service times! I have tried other options like the Bus, however, this was horrible! (2hours!!!!!). I'll stick with the Coaster, it's the BEST!

We rode the coaster from Oceanside to San Diego old town. It is was convenient, inexpensive and saved the strain of driving. It was easy to buy tickets from the machine. For the best views, sit on he upper floor on the Oceanside. Ps. Seniors get a cheaper ticket
