Wow. Great museum. Well staffed by intelligent volunteers. It was a wonderful rainy day visit for us. I appreciated the displays of early life for Chinese fishermen. Many stuffed animals with descriptions. Small admission charge, well worth it. Not the highest rating for TripAdvisor fans, so not real crowded. Scholls send children here regularly. Recommended. Simply amazing for a town... More

This museum is a great spot for local bird and wildlife lovers. The exhibits are pretty extensive and are great for lovers of these areas. The place is two stories with a garden area at the rear filled with local fauna. Admission is very reasonable. Finding this place takes some effort though, you need to know it's there in advance... Their bird exhibit was especially fine. When I was out at Lovers' Point, I thought I heard the sound of an oystercatcher. I asked the docent at the museum whether oystercatchers are in the area and he said "Yes". How nice to find someone with answers to questions about Monterey/Pacific Grove.

This museum has a lot of information on the local flora and fauna. Pacific Grove is winter home to the Monarch butterfly and the museum does a good job talking about the Monarch's place in our environment. Do not miss the little native plants garden in the court yard. If you are traveling with children, check out their education events... More

We finally visited the museum after more than a decade of passing by. This is a great place for birders, as there is an enormous collection of coastal taxidermy. I finally got to see may species close up--sad they're stuffed. though.

We walked from our inn to the museum. We found it extremely interesting with all the marine life and other wild life from the area. It's a good museum to tour, especially for children. The price is reasonable also ($8.95 for non members/visitors.)

First time I visited, (I LOVE museums), spent almost all day, took a break for lunch, places close by. and had a new way of looking at how things went together to make Pacific Grove and Monterery.

My husband and I were in Pacific Grove for a vacation. We were walking around town and came across the Museum. It was full of the history of Pacific Grove. Well worth the time..

This is a small but well done local natural history museum. We decided unexpectedly to check it out after a morning of touring Pacific Grove. Adult admission is $8.95 as of this writing. The museum is on two floors and has a small outdoor garden. Inside the museum the most impressive and interesting items are the many stuffed animals and... More

For our tiny enclave of Pacific Grove, this is a wonderful attraction to have. I initially went to learn about the birds of prey (California Condor, Turkey Vultures, along with other small water foul ALL over the bay. I wanted to learn about the wildlife I was seeing. Besides the aquarium (for sea life), this is the next best thing... More
