The place is well preserved and there is no ticket at that spot. U can donate what you wish to. A family looks after the place and the old lady explains the history well, must have minimum an hour to see all what the place has to offer. Must pay respect to the old ladies and the gentleman who are... More

First, you have to like lighthouses. Having said that, this one is a gem, with great history. The docents are very knowledgeable and the grounds are beautiful. We took our Christmas card photo there.

The Point Pinos Lighthouse was really exceptional. The grounds are immaculate and the docents were helpful and interesting. Each room of the house offers a bit of information and a window into lighthouse keeper life. It is one of the best coastal museum offerings we've seen.

Beautiful and historic lighthouse in a very peaceful setting. The furnishings and the history of this lighthouse made this a stop that we would recommend highly.

Point Pinos is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved lighthouses. It is very easy to access right off the main road and also has a wonderful staff of knowledgeable volunteers to give you the history and make your visit even more memorable. There are a few rooms that have been set up in the style of how they would... More

The Point Pinos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove, Calif., dates to 1855 and is oldest light on the west coast that’s still in operation. It’s automated, so there’s no lighthouse crew there. Instead volunteer docents share the history of lighthouse with visitors. Though you can’t go up to the light itself, you can take the spiral staircase to the second floor.... More

The lighthouse is still in operation! Volunteers did a great job of explaining the history and what still happens at the light house today. Also, a beautiful ocean view and a great view of the Pacific Grove golf course is easily seen. The path around the lighthouse is easily accessible, but inside requires you to climb narrow stairs to really... More

This was one of the most fascinating lighthouses I have ever visited. It was equipped with furniture from the times, walked up spiral stairway to multiple levels, including the favorite spot (then and now) for whale watching and fantastic gardens. Even though the front was under restoration with scaffoldings throughout, I was happy to see this place. This is right... More
