We spend an hot but interesting afternoon in the Living Desert Zoo. The vegetation along the paths is beautiful and we have seen some interesting animals. There was a 'meet & greet' with a snake in the discovery centre. The kids could meet and touch a snake and were taught interesting facts about snake-life. I was impressed by the beatiful... More

Wish we had planned to spend the whole day there, it would have been worth it. As it was a few hours was not enough. Even saw the elusive Big Horn sheep family.

This is an excellent place to see a multitude of desert plants from all over the world and a good selection of mostly African animals. Do wear good walking shoes, lather on the sun block, wear a big hat and bring your camera. It was ~95F (~36C) and sunny on our almost three hour early afternoon visit in late April... More

I love going to The Living Desert! It's a beautiful place, well laid out and the animals are amazing. I felt like a solitary hike so I left early and followed the directions for the larger loop that takes you East where you can climb and then look out over the Coachella Valley. It's so lovely in the hills! There's... More

Enjoyed seeing the African animals in the zoo section. The giraffes were a delight. Also enjoyed viewing the variety of cacti.

John & Karen, Tobi & Anne and I visited midday in April. The best things about this park are the informational talks given by the docents: all were well-presented and it was nice to see how devoted they were to their animals. Our favorite was the cheetah exhibit but I also enjoyed the bighorn sheep. The enclosures for the animals... More

This is a great way to spend a day with family and friends. We bought a tram ticket and loved being dropped off at each location. Loved it. The only thing we did not do was the butterfly exhibit. We just ran out of time.

Every staff member and volunteer had outstanding customer service. The extra $ for the trolley will allow you to see it all. The animals are loved by their caretakers and seem to be given adequate space. I think the extra fee cost for attractions is absurd. At Knott's you don't pay extra for the carousel, but here...there is an entrance fee... More

Hi there! We are so glad you took advantage of our shuttle that eases transportation throughout the park. It definitely comes in useful during those warmer days! However, we are sorry you weren’t so fond of the additional costs throughout the park. To keep our admission rates as low as possible, we have our attractions come at an extra cost... More

What really made this place special were the volunteers & employees. Everyone made you feel welcome. Getting up close and personal with the critters was extra special. One thing of note: the entry fee is $19.95 (less $2 for AAA), but that's for the "basics." If you're there with kids, they're going to want to ride a camel ($6), go... More
