Family with one teenager visited this evening. This was a good way to spend an hour walking around the zoo and enjoying the lights. There was some great smelling food available for purchase and lots of people carrying around coffee & hot chocolate. Besides the...More

We loved this zoo and gardens more than any other we have ever visited. Since our visit was in December, the Christmas lights were decorating the grounds, and after dark it was pure magic. The hikes here are so wonderful, and seeing the animals in...More

This may very well be the best tourist attraction in the whole Coachella Valley. The concentration is on flora and fauna of North America and Africa. Fairly good quality food at their snack stands.

Great place! Can't spend all day here, but it's great for a half day! Lots to see and do! GO early in the summer months!

It is a decent zoo, but we were lured there by signs for the butterfly exhibit. The butterflies cost extra - so we don't go. The whole way around the zoo, we kept coming across activities that cost extra.

This zoo is nicely situated, large and well-maintained. It also offers various zoo keeper chats and shows throughout the day. Here is my issue with this zoo: the admission includes only that--admission to the zoo. Want to see the featured attraction (butterflies in this case)?...More

Visiting the Living Desert over the holidays is a must for the young and old. All the lights are so much fun with lots of exhibits and tours. For a small zoo you get a lot of buck !

Hop on HWY 111 and go South East. Stay on 111 for about 6 miles and then make a right onto Portola. We are on Portola on your left hand side 47900 Portola Ave in Palm Desert
