Amazing western art exhibitions

An eye opening experience. Lots of western art and artifacts. Highly recommend a visit to educate and relax away from the heat of Palm Springs.

the museum is home to Kline, Chagall, Picasso vessels (which I have never seen Picasso in this medium)..and then a fine exhibit of mid century furniture, western and indian art...and not to be missed the third floor of modern art...that is a wonderful collaboration of insightful and thought provoking pieces. all very well curated and the environment is stunning. do... We just joined the museum and spent a morning there. It's truly special, with a wonderful variety of exhibits. They include western art but also very modern stuff. The shop is delightful and full of very tasteful merchandise. They have an exquisite sculpture garden that is worth the visit.

The latest display is glass art and it's beautiful. In addition they have the wonderful Annenberg Theater - an intimate 400 seat venue that has great entertainment. Opening night for the season featured Megan Hilty followed by a dinner catered by Spencer's restaurant.

I consider myself as having only an introductory knowledge of modern art. First of all the collection is so well curated, it would be something I would expect to see in a city 100 times larger than here, think New York, London and you will appreciate the significance!!! I was very fortunate to arrive when an exceptionally gifted docent was... More

I visited this museum when I was in Palm Springs during Thanksgiving week. First, I was delighted because, as a member of the Oakland Museum of California, which has a reciprocal agreement with the Palm Springs Art Museum, I was able to visit the museum at no charge. Always a plus! But once inside, I was delighted with several very... More

The recently installed collection of very impressive works by famous sculptors and artists such as Moore, Picasso, Chagall by the Weiner family was a very good addition to the museum. Really helped to elevate the stature of the museum.

The Palm Springs Art Museum is a beautiful building with large spaces to display the art. The art is a mixture of 20th Century modern artifacts, Western paintings and art, and contemporary art. There are also works by Picasso, Chagall, Calder, Henry Moore, Chihuly and other well-known artists. Some of the installations or pieces in the museum are quirky, others... More

We were lucky to visit during a wonderful display of Western art and our docent was extremely knowledgeable about western history. There are 3 levels to see, the top two go pretty quickly though. The western display was awesome as was the George Montgomery furniture display. Great spot.
