The Palm Springs Art Museum is a real treasure, and a must-see activity for any visitor to Palm Springs. Steps off the main drag, you can enjoy this museum in 30 minutes or three hours. There's a cafe downstairs and it is fun to eat in the sculpture garden. Check out the box office for the many special events in... More

This art museum is free on Thursday after 4 pm as that is the day of the Village Fest. If you go early enough you can have a docent explain the art to you, which I found very helpful.

We went on Thursday night when the gallery is free to the public. It was very interesting. I've never seen such a large collection of modern art before. Some of it was incredible, and some of it fell into the "I don't get it" category. I really enjoyed see it all, and would recommend that you check it out!

We visit each time we are in Palm Springs. The museum itself is open, airy, and inviting. A new architecture and design center is a couple blocks away and also worth a visit. Main museum has lovely glass, Western art, and modern art exhibits and fine rotating exhibits. There is also a lovely sculpture garden.

It was all quite interesting - the Jennifer Karady - In Country display was very moving - the font for the personal stories could have been larger to read from while standing.

Pleasantly surprised by the wide range of paintings, statues, etc. in indoor and outdoor exhibits. Thus, most everyone should find items of interest. We were further pleased with the Thursday evening free passes.

We spent over two hours one afternoon at the museum during Modernism week. Really enjoyed the quality and caliber of the artists' work shown. Quite impressed that a town the size of Palm Springs could sustain a museum of this quality. They are fortunate to have some very generous donors. Well worth a visit!

Too bad that a compromise was not reached between the Annnberg Theatre and Coyote Stageworks. In this era of conflict and demands, both these operations are the losers and more so the patrons who support both organizations. Anyways, life goes on but not as well as previous.
