Enjoyable 1hr 45 minute ride through Indian Canyon for $120 each. 2 guides accompanied us. Some great views and lovely creeks. First time on a horse in over 20 years for me. Very enjoyable. Very sore now however! One of the guides was informative and knowledgeable. The other was immature and just wanted to know what things were going off... More

Absolutely wonderful experience taking my 7 year old on her first horse riding experience. We did the hour ride, and it was just perfect for her. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and Stacey the owner couldn't have been nicer. Thank you for such a great experience, and we look forward to visiting again soon!!

On my previous visits to Smoke Tree stables I have always gone for the 1 hour ride which is great, but not particularly scenic. On my visit this time they were not doing the 2 hour ride, but replaced it with a 1.5 hour trip through Murray Canyon, which required a short drive from the stables. I was in a... More

I love to get out on horse back to see the country side if I can and to be honest, this was a great way to see the canyon. The creek in the oasis was quite high, so it made walking it quite difficult for the hikers, but very easy when on horse back, as well as fun! It's not... More

We are not horse owners or riders but my wife has booked a horse ride for us whenever the opportunity arises when on vacation. This translates to riding in New Hampshire, Arizona,Cancun and Cabo San Lucas. This is the best one so far! She didn't plan ahead but just called that day. We got there planning our normal one hour... More

The location is just south of Indian canyons golf resort. It is clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly, and the horses are habituated but slightly responsive to rider controls. It's all western tack and the horses neck reign. They offer one hour rides for $50 per rider, but it is around the stable area. I opted for the $120... More

My husband and I spent a couple of memorable hours riding through splendid Andreas and Murray Canyons outside of Palm Springs. We were lucky enough to ride after a rare desert rain (it was dry by the time we rode, so there was no compromise to our safety) and the resulting sky and landscape made it the most beautiful trail... I was so impressed with the trail ride into Indian Canyon on my first visit, I came back for a private ride in the run-off basin which included lots of trotting and galloping. Whether you are a beginner or advanced rider, this stable has the horse for you!

I was surprised by the attitude of the horses. Usually you get those that are numb to anything you try to make them do, but my horse was attentive and reacted sensitively to my commands. The 1-hour is a little boring since it leads you only up and down a dry river bed, where a lot of debris has been... More

Palm Springs is one of the many places we visited on our honeymoon to the USA from Australia- and Smoke Tree Stables was one of the most remarkable and special experiences we had! We took the 2 hour trail ride (must do!) and all of the staff and the owners were friendly and made us feel welcome from the start.... More
