Gorgeous Scenic Walk

Beautiful walk / easy hike. Very scenic, lots of hilly landscapes (not a walk through a forest). Parking is limited, so get there early!

Just a simple walking trail amidst rolling hills and California oak savannah. Kestrel sittings and handsome scenery - walk was over fairly quickly. Not at all strenuous but an enjoyable place to walk and facilities and interpretive displays well done. Clean bathrooms and good drinking water resources.

The Preserve is a wonderful place to hike and watch for birds. The trails are well kept and easy to follow and are used by mountain bikers and walkers. The parking lot can fill up on the weekend so it's good to get there early.

There are higher parks and open spaces, but Arastradero is minutes from the freeway, yet quiet in a few yards from the parking lot. For runners, a terrific place to stretch the legs and build endurance.

The Arastradero Preserve offers another great hike in the foothill. It was established many years ago to prevent the land from being developed, and now we can thank the foresight of our city leaders at the time to have established a park that will preserve the natural beauty of the foothills for generations to come. Compared to the closeby Stanford... More

We love hiking here. The preserve has a series of trails which are a combination of open space, as well as some shady areas. Nothing to steep or difficult. Good for those wanting a light challenging hike. Come early for parking.

Arastradero is a really nice place to go hiking (or biking) with a lot of different options for length and difficulty. There was so many different trails, its like a pick your own adventure. Dog-friendly as well which is really nice. It's popular with bikers so keep an eye out. Great views at the peaks of most trails.

One of my favorite runs on the peninsula - dirt trails, both forested and open space, rolling terrain with some steeper options. I regularly take my dog and he loves it. I occasionally see coyotes, deer, horses, and sometimes wild turkeys. The parking lot has water and bathrooms. Convenient. Limited parking in the lot between 8:30 and 10:30 am on... More

Loved the fact that you can enter from close to the Alpine Village and quickly find yourself in a lovely forested area and come out to and expansive meadow. Great 6 miles loop to a large pond and back. And the trails have just the right amount of sand and dirt so it's not hazardous. And the views and immersion... More

So worth the short drive out here for wide open spaces and beautiful views! There was a nice unmanned center with information and excellent bathroom facilities at the parking area. Be sure to grab a map because there are so many different trails! They had a nice recommendation for one of the more longer hikes that had a nice variety... More
