Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The whole area of Pismo is a wonderful adventure- food, candy, shopping. The pier and the sites are fun. Something for everyone. Parking is an issue but work it out because it is a fun place to visit.

Pismo promenade is the tourist attraction spot in Pismo town. Tourists can enjoy the views of Pacific ocean and hotels on the beach side. Play area, rest rooms and other facilities are there.

I didn't find this to be an especially long promenade, but it's paved and you can stroll along it for nice beach views. Several hotels border it.

The title says it all. There are no shops or points of interest. A couple of food trucks. It is a good spot to watch the waves crash on the beach below. The Pismo Beach sign is cool to look at and to take a selfie in front of. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. The shops are all super touristy and not very interesting

We visited on a cold and rainy day and loved it. The pier wasn’t crowded and it was lovely. The kids loved the slides into the sand and all the stairs. I wish they had more shops, but all the food options were great. Definitely make sure to go to the promenade when you’re in Pismo!

An enjoyable walk along the beach about a mile in length. Several places to access the sand and join the others on the beach.

Due to Covid where so much is shutdown, it's quite busy on weekends. People flock here. It's kids and dog friendly (leashed, and pickup after them), all ages.
Beach is huge and wide I. Both directions. The pier is one of the biggest. A large boardwalk, plenty of seats along both. One main waterfront restaurant, another smaller coffee/wine/beer/snacks/some food on the boardwalk. Pier has Silver Stream "food truck" (not!) full service food and drinks. Another SilverStream on the pier with bottled water and soft drinks, snacks, suntan lotion, fishing stuff, etc. Beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and the whole area. We walk this every single day at least twice. We've eaten more than once at each of the noted and only beachfront eateries. The coffee shop one, it's got gas fireplaces which has been wonderful. We stayed here since Feb1 and leaving Apr 30, and we will be back. Plenty of eateries of all kinds just off the waterfront up and down tbe streets. Bathrooms plenty on the boardwalk area and they're kept pretty clean and stocked, though soap is absent in most. I'm impressed with how clean the whole area is, their sanitation folks are working hard. It's gets really busy here with traffic on the weekends if you're driving, get here early for parking, most is pay parking but you can find street parking and walk a block or two also, especially weekdays. Sun brings out more people.

They ruined the whole area. Flying bras. Dinosaur eggs. Ridiculous. And a giant sign...duh. I grew up there and you ruined the whole parking lot.

The crowds were alive and well but many were wearing masks and were respectful of distancing. It was so great to be outside and waling around.
