This area of the Sacramento River is a hidden jewel. There are usually very few people, especially in the morning. Our favorites are the pristine Perry Riffle area and the Bend. Lots of great places for picnicking, too. The quietness is amazing, sometimes there's only...More

There we were, stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the I-5 going through Sacramento. The long drive from Palm Springs to Red Bluff (the first leg of our journey back to Canada) had been made even longer by a series of traffic jams—many, according...More

The Sacramento River is underused. The Bend area has a small grocery store and some cooked foods. You can grab a snack and head across the street to the Bend Boat Launch. There are nice restrooms, picnic tables and you can easily get into the...More

Great wild life area for the most part. Have seen some unsavory folks camping in the middle of nowhere here but I'm usually hunting and armed so not scared. Miss the river being higher level for more boating but floating is relaxing. Plan to fish...More

I loved living out here. The river access is great and is a great spot to float the Sacramento river from. You can float all the way to Red Bluff park. Great scenery and great summer fun!

Red Bluff, I-5, exit on Jelly"s Fairy. Approx. 1.5 miles, turn right at the Bend Store. The boat launch is on the left just after crossing the river.
