I only explored this place one time. My first impression: excellent for families with young kids. Good job Redding!!!! My drawback, the homeless/transients you meet on the walking trails. For the most part, it's a clean public place, I would only go during sun light hours.

A visit to this park is always a good activity for a walk when in Redding, whether it is alone or with family. I would recommend it for taking your kids. We did this as a family activity on a cloudy afternoon. The area is comprised of the Turtle Bay Museum, the Sundial Bridge for pedestrians, and the McConnell Arboretum... More

Beautiful trails and gardens. Great place to explore plant life. The walk also takes you past an enclosure that has many deer.

We always enjoy going to Turtle Bay when the butterflies are there, or when they are feeding the fish. Some of the temporary exhibits have been wonderful. We enjoy having the ability to use our membership, when traveling to other cities, at various science museums associated with Turtle Bay. It's like you get 100 discovery parks in one little card.... I was really surprised to find such a great outdoor recreation area in Redding. This is a far cry from the sleepy little town I remember when I lived in the area 40+ years ago.

This place is amazing. There are so many things to see and do. Hands on things for kids to experiment with. You will need plenty of time to experience everything. We went when it was raining, so we weren't able to see what is outside. We enjoyed going with our grandson.

The turtle bay exploration, is built for all ages. But the kids are really taught something there. I am a grandma, and a big kid at heart and I love that place. So much to do and so much to see. One time I saw art work where the medium were lego's. It was fantastic!!! It fun for everyone.

Aged displays, anything that may be new or cooler you have to pay for. Sadly we live here, and because a family membership is so pricey we do not go, oh and the fact that they don't clean or update any of the static displays. Not worth the visit.
